First let me say customers service is too awful it’s non existent! I walked in the store the two staff one young lady had green hair and a young man didn’t greet me at all. They were having a conversation and didn’t stop it until they felt like it. To make it bad the staff was eating an icecream cone behind the counter! They had non chalent attitudes again when I say customer service was non existent!!! It smelled so bad I had to think hard about getting icecream there due to the smell! I didn’t and couldn’t eat my icecream in there like I planned to after driving 30 minutes to this location that’s how bad it smelled. Then let me say I saw the staff put their half eaten ice cream cone in the box with the other Waffle cone as a holder!! I have worked in food services and customer service this place deserves an inspection from the health department and a staff training on customer service! Now the icecream was amazing and it was worth the 10$ Will I be back absolutely not due to what I mentioned above!

The location is very cute, and even on a busy Friday, it was easy to get to. I read the reviews beforehand, yet I still found myself overwhelmed by all the options. The young ladies working were very nice (and patient) and allowed us to try as many flavors as we asked (it was only 2 each, don't worry). I took one of their suggestions not to mix the Brown Sugar Cookie Dough Brownie with anything else. So I had that made into an ice cream sandwhich. We also got a scoop of the PB Brownie Honeycomb. The ice cream was good, but the chunks of cookie dough weren't very good. Tasted like flour, kind of. The cookies that were the outside of the sandwich were a little hard. I actually ended up taking it apart and eating it without the cookies because they were hard. There is only one seating area/table in the store. There is a bench outside as well. However, since it was raining on Friday, we found ourselves outside in the cold rain eating our ice cream.

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream in Uptown is a charming little spot that tends to get pretty busy in the evenings — but the ice cream is rich, smooth, and packed with flavor, so the wait is usually worth it. That said, it’s definitely on the pricier side — expect to pay around $10 for a single scoop with tip, which is more than you’d spend for an entire pint at the grocery store. But you’re paying for premium ingredients, creative flavors, and a cute atmosphere that adds to the experience. They also offer fun seasonal flavors and vegan options, which is a nice touch. Overall, if you’re a true ice cream lover or just want to treat yourself, it’s worth stopping by — even if just once.

What's thick, creamery, and has your mouth begging for more? Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, of course!

I Love Van Leeuwen ice cream. Anytime I'm in the grocery store, I have to go by the ice cream isle to see what new eccentric flavors Van Leeuween has on the shelves. From Praline Butter Cake to Dijon Mustard(yes, you read correctly), Van Leeuwen literally has something for everyone. So, when I found out that they had not 1,but 2 store fronts in the DFW area, I had to slide through.

So, me and average height, medium skinned, Mr. Dreamy went on a quest to check out what the store front location on McKinney Avenue had to offer.

Before you even hit the door, you are greeted with a sidewalk tent sign, beaconing you to step inside and try out one of the seasonal flavors. Pumpkin Cheesecake, Vegan Sweet Potato Marshmellow Pie, Cranberry Crumble, and Thandai ALL READY had me rebuking a spirit of greed. Then, I opened the door! More than 30 flavors of French Ice Cream and Vegan Ice Cream assaulted my sense! Pints, Ice Cream Bars, Waffle Cones, Shakes, Build your own Sundaes, Ice Cream Sandwiches and floats had me in a choke hold! Plus, they had almost as many topping available. Mr. Dreamy(a permanent residence of Cookies & Cream or Mint Chip) asked to sample the Planet Earth. Now there is nothing Vegan about this man, and I asked him TWICE about his choice of sample. One taste and he was GONE! Didn't even taste anything else. 2 scoops on a waffle cone of Vegan spirulina and almond custard, with matcha green tea cake pieces, had him drooling! It was rich and silky, with earthy undertones and a mouth feel of a full-bodied wine. Bliss!! I tried several different flavors( I told you bout that greedy spirit) and happily settled in on the Sour Cherry Creamsicle that blew me away! Ribbons of Sour Cherry folded into a Tangy custard reminiscent of Buttermilk pinged all across my tongue. It was rapturous!

The girls at the counter were fun and engaging. Making suggestions on flavors and providing feedback of what was most popular. It was everything I dreamed of!

Looking for a cool(ha ha, get it) luxurious splurge to treat yourself with? Skip the grocery store and head over to Van...

Came here for ice cream with my boyfriend to celebrate my graduating of college. We had such a fun day at the and decided to end it with ice cream! We go here somewhat often bc we live so close by and I’ve NEVER had an issue. This time was different. There was two younger people working the front. There was a hispanic girl with bleached hair that had been poorly dyed turquoise and another young Hispanic guy with dark hair. They were absolutely awful to us. When we asked questions about their ice cream flavors, they laughed and said they were disgusting. When I went to ask my boyfriend what he wanted, they started mocking what I was saying to him. I was stressed out and irritated and my boyfriend didn’t notice they were being rude so I ordered a flavor I already knew I liked and the guy behind the counter said “so u want the one that’s advertised all over the building?” Absolutely so rude and uncalled for. I am not a rude nor a confrontational person and decided to let it go.

Also I was so upset and stressed that I forgot to tell them that my boyfriend is allergic to nuts and they put nuts ALL over it. I never even asked for nuts! I just wanted a dang milkshake!!!!! I ended up throwing it away and paid $15 for the milkshake I never drank.

Safe to say it was the worst experience at an ice cream place I’ve ever had. I will not be returning. There are TONS of gourmet ice cream places in the area where I can be treated...
