Were here for 2 1/2hrs AFTER we were seated. Sorriest service ever! Had drink orders taken 10 minutes after being seated, 15 minutes later, no drinks and entree orders taken, our waitress promptly waited on the next table as soon as our entree order was taken, didn't seem to notice we had no drinks or care. We were in a party of 15, restaurant was not even at half capacity and our "lunch" was right before 2. Had biscuits brought out right after our drinks were served and our bread basket was never refilled but the other end of the table was. Our entrees were brought out in 3 waves with at least 5 to 8 minutes between waves. Our refills for sweet tea were brought out unsweetened and had to be brought out again. When my entree was served the gravy on the country fried steak was congealing and had a silver dollar sized amount of gravy on it. When we asked for extra napkins (we had 7 kids with us under age 10) we were brought 3, yes I said 3...napkins which were promptly placed in the middle of the table. My husband's steak was ordered RARE, we got it medium WELL, my mom's looked like shoe leather, but she ordered hers medium well...lol. This was a family get together to celebrate a birthday that was completely ruined by bad service and incorrect orders! Our orders took so long to come out there was no point in sending it back to be corrected or we could've been there past dark. I can understand untrained service and being short on help, but this is beyond ridiculous. I ALWAYS try to be very forgiving as a customer because I've worked in customer service in retail, have been a retail manager and have also worked in all areas of food service, including being a server, but there was absolutely NO excuse for this type of service, especially since it WASN'T "peak" hours for lunch, that's why we chose 2:00. We were seated at 1:53 and left at 4:30, because we just couldn't get proper service!!! I informed the ladies at the register upon checking out when asked if everything was alright, that it was NOT, they tried several times to get a manager for me, which I refused because I was so angry, I was blunt, not ugly and informed them we would NEVER return, I know how petty people can sometimes be over trying to get something for free. I am NOT one of those people! I did inform the ladies who my server was and I hope to God someone re-trains her!!!!
Side note to manager: Parties of more than 5 should ALWAYS have 2 servers to ensure prompt service. Servers should be aware that if drinks or entrees are slow coming out an apology works wonders to ensure your customers are served courteously if the kitchen is understaffed. Please teach that tossing napkins and straws in the middle of a long table is NOT courteous and just downright RUDE, and bread baskets and drinks should be continuously monitored for happy condumers, but most of all....if a server is overwhelmed they should...
Read moreI must say, it's been a while since I've been to a Cracker Barrel as of late. My family and I was shopping in Dalton and decided to go to Cracker Barrel. Because of past experiences, I was relucted.
To my surprise this was the best service we have ever had at CB. The young waiter who served us was very polite, soft spoken, and attentive. Everything we asked for was received without hesitation.
We all ordered fish. I ordered the Friday special with Steak Fries and corn. My wife ordered Grilled fish with green beans and carrots. My mom ordered the 3 piece catfish with okra and something else, I forgot.
There was a problem with my moms order. for some reason her fish didn't get put in the computer or was taken. either way, the waiter brought us our food and apologized to my mom. She just asked for her sides while she waited. But quickly the fish was brought out with no waiting. Her Okra didn't taste good so she asked our waiter for carrots instead. The waiter pleasantly apologized and brought her carrots. Her meal was cooked great.
My wife's food was cooked to order and hot. It was very delicious. My fried cod and steak fries along with the corn was very flavorful and tasted great. We all had the cornbread and took some home.
My wife looked around and the ambience was great. All of the wait staff was professional with their customer and was always hustling.
It was great to see the proficiency and training that the management taught their staff. I am a food reviewer on YouTube and you can check my page at Big Matt's Cooking and Reviews where I have a review of a real bad experience at the CB in Ringgold.
We will be back to this location again. Thank you management for the great...
Read moreThis was the worst experience I’ve ever had at Cracker Barrel. They were dusting the overhead decor while people were eating and you could watch the dust fall. Our server Cheyenne was SO rude. She complained about having to work a double later in the week. When she brought tea out without being asked, my mother thanked her. Her response was “Well, I knew you would ask and I didn’t feel like going back into the kitchen.” When our food FINALLY came out, she passed hot plates (kept announcing they were hot) over two young children and a newborn. When she brought biscuits out to the table, she stopped just shy of throwing them on the table. My brother in law never got hash brown casserole he asked for (now why else would somebody go to Cracker Barrel). We had to ask the hostess for butter and jelly because Cheyenne never reappeared until it was time to pass out our checks. When I went to pay, the man in front of me was disgruntled about his Cracker Barrel experience. When he was done, the cashier and manager talked about him while I was standing there. When I went into the bathroom, the same manager and another employee were scraping the bathroom counter with putty knives. Seemed inappropriate to me, considering how hard it was for us to get any kind of service while we were eating. They were talking about how someone doesn’t know yet, but they’re getting fired. Sorry Kiley, looks like you might need to look for another line of work… We will never go back to this Cracker Barrel again. Such widespread unprofessionalism, terrible food. I can’t believe we paid for that experience. All we wanted was some hashbrown casserole...
