They used to be good. But service sucks horribly now. I used to come here a lot the last few years. But my most recent trip here really turned me off of this restaurant.
I wanted to meet up with my friends here since we haven't met each other for months. I suggested this place because I wanted some tofu. We came here at 7 on a Sunday night, the restaurant was not packed at all. There were lots of empty tables. We sat down and try to order, the waitess was kinda taking their sweet time serving us. They were rude and uncaring.
Through out the dinner it took them forever to bring us our food, and didn't really care what we ordered and just wanted to get away from us. (I ordered Regular Chicken Tofu and my friend ordered the Regular Beef Tofu. When the waitess brough it to us, she just said "regular, regular". I ask was it Regular Beef or Regular Chicken? She just repeat "regular, regular". wtf???)
On the other hand, there were a table of Korean diners and the waitess was so friendly and helpful to them. The difference was ridiculous.
I still like the food but the terrible service just make me want to go somewhere else and never come back. Maybe that was why the restaurant was not packed. Because the terrible service drove away all the good...
Read moreFeb 2023 - My partner and I got takeout lunch (Doordash) but there was enough food for dinner as well! We ordered Haemul Pajeon, Bibimbap, and So Go Gi Soon Dooboo (Mild). We were surprised how nice the sides were packaged as well as the food we ordered!
The So Go Gi Soon Dooboo was so full, my partner and I struggled a bit to open the container without spilling any. It was delicious! I would want to try their other tofu stews if I visit again!
I'm generally not a fan of seafood so I think Haemul Pajeon was alright. The Bibimbap and the sides was good.
[e] 12/16/23 Dinner Dine In. My party was a group of four and we dine in for dinner. The place was half empty at 6:30PM. We got Crab Soon Tofu (white), Soon DooBoo + Gal Bi (Chicken tofu stew, white, + Beef Short Ribs), and Pork Dolsot (Bibimbap). The food was good for the most part - I think it was because I prefer mild tofu stew but my group needed it white. The crab tofu stew was better than chicken; but beef from my takeout visit was best (but it could be because of the mild spicy). I liked the beef short ribs. The bibimbap was good too. The banchans were good.
If possible, pay in cash for...
Read moreOne of the better Korean restaurants in the area. Went on a Thursday night and it was pretty busy. There were only 2 servers so it was kind of hard to get their attention. They were friendly and as accommodating as they possiblity could have been.
Ordered chicken Ddekbokki, corn cheese tofu soup, and bulgogi. Ddekbokki was large and flavorful. Lots of meat in it. Vegetables in it were over cooked but I don't mind. Never seen corn cheese tofu soup anywhere else before so we decided to try it. There was spam in it as well. Definitely taste the cheese flavor in the soup. I like their tofu soup because the soup it thick. Bulgogi was average flavor wise but good because the meat wasn't mushy like a lot of other places.
We got about 7 banchans. Really liked their pickled cabbage and the spicy daikon. In fact, most of their banchans where pretty good.
My favorite of all the places I have tried in the ssf to Millbrae area. I was sad after moving from San Jose because I could not find a korean place that I like around here, but now I...
