I’ve been to different Dave and busters and visited each of them multiple times: San Antonio, Dallas, Charlotte, and Fresno. I have never had any issues at any locations. I’ve always had a blast with friends, but this one in Daly, was definitely a disappointment. The management was poor ran. People were complaining everywhere. And eventually I ended up having to speak with the manager as well because I put my name on the wait list for seating at the restaurant. I spoke with a lady name Breanna, I verified that she wrote my correct name, phone number, and that she wrote the time of arrival (9:02). There was a long waitlist but my friends and I didn’t mind since we were going to play games anyways. After an hour and 20 min. I went to check on the status. My friends and I were getting thirsty and breanna said there were 5 people ahead of us. I asked if we can order water and she said we have to wait until we get seated. After another 40 min I came back to ask her why it’s taking so long!! This girl had told me that I was next to be seat. But I noticed that she had my name was already crossed out and almost 10 groups of people got seat/crossed out after my name!! I use to be head hostess when I was younger and was great at it so I know all the tricks in the book. She told me she had just crossed my name out and that the people after me cancelled which is why they were crossed out too. We haven’t been seated yet so why is my name crossed out. I called her out on all her lies and asked for the manager. Grant (manager) arrived and tried to tell me that I received a text and if we didn’t show up then they skip us. But in fact, I didn’t not receive a text or any other form or communication. I made Grant look through there text logs and He realized that I was not contact, yet was still crossed out for no reason while others were getting seated. Grant was only getting flustered with me after reviewing the text log for a 2nd and 3rd time because he had no other excuses he could use. Grant was not helpful whatsoever. He only said, “well now we got you seat and I take full responsibility and apologize.” It was now 11:05 PM. Last call is at 11:15 and the place closes at 12. We barely had time to order drinks and I didn’t receive any compensation for the blatant mistake that was made. Only a half-hearted apologize because you can tell he was just done for the day since he’s been yelled at by soo many other people already. Only redeeming thing was that while eating, the servicer was nice and the food was good but I noticed more people complaining to management about drinks and food. Seriously, this place was poorly managed. I don’t know if it’s usually like that or it was just a bad night but...
Read moreI go here with my little boy for father-son nights, and it's a flat out blast. If you have fond memories of special Fridays or Saturdays when for some reason your mom or dad somehow lost their mind and said yes to going to Chuck E Cheese (whatever happened to that place?), then you'll know what I'm talking about. Tons of games, a great many of them NOT gun-based, good 2-player stuff like air hockey so you can interact rather than zone out, and a fair number of cool games that require some physical action.
Putting this here for those who don't read to the end: Security staff here is TOP NOTCH. My 6-year old got turned around and couldn't find me, and they were ON TOP OF THAT right away. Had my kid at the front, staff was calming him, calling me on the PA, and they were not letting him go to anyone but his parent. They were really really cool, and they keep a really good eye on the floor for situations, which I really appreciate.
BUT: The food isn't great or super healthy, and that's to be expected, I guess. Kids Mac n cheese is straight up Kraft m&c out the box, the ONLY vegetable to be had is steamed broccoli, carefully hidden deep within the menu, and not a scrap of fruit to be found. Still, my kid isn't there to become a gourmand, and I'm cool with his food being a bit outside the margins, so that's not my main beef. Food for adults is some some of the most mind-bogglingly high calorie insanity I've ever seen. Nearly every adult entree is between 1400-2200 calories. 🤯🤯 That's practically all the calories you're supposed to eat in a day. And I'm not talking about just the "bacon wrapped burger inside of another burger"-type obvious offenders. The salads are like 1600 calories! Ridiculo.
Service is great at the desks and reception areas, everyone is nice. Tableside is somewhat attentive, but as a former server, I can only imagine that providing service at a place like this is particularly challenging, given all of the distractions. So, props to them, I don't imagine they get appreciated nearly enough.
Bottom line: it is what you think it is, and it is fun! Once in a while it's a great little field trip for you and the kiddos. Do it. Just eat...
Read moreWalked in on Friday at 6pm to celebrate my daughters (both disabled) 8th birthday with family and friends. Bought $100 game cards for the kids. I went to the bar to get the kids lemonades and a few adults beverages for others with us. Took over 5 minutes to get acknowledged from bar staff while it wasn’t busy, finally someone came close enough for me to shout an order. Bartender acknowledged, repeated back the order, then made the order. 2 don julio blanco margaritas w/ Cointreau ( lime juice, no mix), 2 strawberry lemonades, and a beer. He brought the drinks. I took a straw and tasted the margaritas. Just terrible. Clearly used well tequila and no Cointreau. I let the bartender know. He was defiant. When paying bill, the bartender closed tab to the amount of the drinks, without letting me tip. I looked closer and saw the bartender charged me for 3 margaritas. When I told the bartender, “the bill isn’t right”, he responded, “I had to charge for a 3rd margarita because of the Cointreau. He then left, came back, and threw $4 at me and said something (distorted) as he walked away. Went to a manager and let him know. The manager gave me a printout of what I should have been charged and what I was charged, a $3 difference. He had my drinks remade by an actual bartender. He said the bar manager would speak with him. I watched as drinks were remade, the bar manager and bartender laughing it up. Such a shame. Was ready to spend well over $500 for a few hours. Great venue for when with the kids. Nothing else was offered or done to accommodate me. I paid the original bill, and the bar staff continued their night like business as usual. Our family would go 3-4 times a month to this venue. We will not...
