We recently used Nardelli’s catering service for a luncheon gathering which was held after a memorial service. We’ve ordered sandwiches and grinders off Nardelli’s regular menu but this was our first experience with their catering menu and staff. We have some family members with allergies/sensitivities to gluten and dairy; we’ve always had positive experiences with Nardelli’s ability to accommodate our dietary issues, with their attention to detail, making sure our orders were properly handled and labeled. When we decided to serve sandwiches at the luncheon, we decided to give Nardelli’s catering department a try. When I initially called Nardelli’s to inquire about their ability to accommodate us I spoke with Queen. She was extremely helpful, patient and thorough answering my questions regarding accommodating our dietary issues with a catering order. She referred me to Jimmy, their Catering Manager, letting me know that he would be happy to assist me as soon as I was ready to place my order. Once I was ready to place our order, Jimmy could not have been more helpful. He was extremely patient and reassuring that everything would be taken care of, lifting any worry about the meal off of me, allowing me to be able to focus on other things. He truly had a handle on things, he fully understood the importance of the event and having things flow smoothly for us. The order was delivered on time and seamlessly. The platters were attractively presented, the food was skillfully prepared, the gluten-free items were properly labeled and separated, and everything tasted delicious! Thank you so much Jimmy and Queen for your exceptional service! I would not hesitate to use your catering services again should the need arise and will happily continue to order sandwiches off your...
Read moreI had an extremely disappointing experience with Nardelli’s Grinder Shop, and I cannot recommend their catering services. I ordered lunch for a medical office, catering for 20+ people, and spent over $250. You would think that spending that much money at a business would guarantee at least a basic level of respect, but that was not the case.
When I politely asked for bowls (because I had ordered soup) and plates for the sandwiches, the manager rudely asked, “Oh, you forgot your paper goods?” At first, I was confused because I wasn’t aware that asking for basic serving items was an issue. In my 8+ years as a rep, I’ve never had to pay extra for paper goods when catering an office lunch—especially for something like bowls, which are not something offices typically have lying around.
The manager then told me I could pay $18 for them, which was outrageous considering I had already spent $250 on the food. The rudeness of her tone made it worse. The whole interaction was unnecessary and unpleasant.
To top it off, the manager repeatedly mentioned that the business has been there for 15 years, which felt irrelevant and only highlighted how stuck they seem in their poor customer service practices. Unsurprisingly, the place was dead when I arrived. I will not be returning, and I’ll be sure to share this experience with my team to avoid recommending them for future lunches. To top it off she wouldn’t even give me a receipt. It’s a shame that such rude and dismissive behavior overshadowed what could have been a simple and positive...
Read moreNardelli's might be the best hidden gem, it's understandable why Connecticut locals keep it under wraps. Their sandwiches are enormous, made on fluffy rolls, and overflowing with goodies! Options are clearly marked, and there are a variety of extras to choose from. We were driving through on a road trip and stopped to pick up dinner, I was blown away by how many delicious things they had to choose from. You start by choosing your bread and then selecting a filling type from the sign board or the case in front of you. Pick your toppings, and if you're feeling fancy, grab a serving of one of their salads. They have desserts to go if you want a single serving of something sweet!
The chicken cutlet with mozzarella and tomato is an absolute game-changer when paired with roasted red peppers and balsamic glaze. Their tortellini salad had an admirable amount of parmesan (I'm Sicilian, it's a thing we look for). All of the ingredients were fresh and the folks working here were beyond kind. Super friendly, they even offered some suggestions for popular topping combos!
Highly recommend stopping by, you won't regret it, and you might just find your new...
