Spectacularly fresh! I was surprised how lovely my meal was at Ki Asian Bistro. I work occasionally in Danbury, CT and have tried quite a few other sushi restaurants in the area. Ki Asian Bistro is definitely pricier than the other restaurants, but the quality of the fish is well worth it. I ordered the Chirashi, and each piece of fish was just lovely. For some reason the thing I remember the most though was their fresh wasabi. Usually a sad green paste hiding behind the ginger that assaults your nose, the Wasabi here was delicate, sweet, and perfectly complimenting the fish. Will return! Probably tonight!
Service is also great, friendly, and fast!
Update: I did come back the very next day and ordered the miso eggplant appetizer and some sushi rolls. While the food was delicious, I’d say the quality was not the same as the chirashi, with the rolls being small in size and fish quantity, and a little messily put together. It does not justify the price being $2-3 more per roll than an average sushi restaurant.
Come here for dishes that can highlight their great quality fish but perhaps rolls should be...
Read moreThankfully we live locally to this restaurant, so we are able to go there often. The quality of the food is amazing. I have been to MANY japanese/sushi restaurant with subpar quality sushi, and this place has never disappointed us. It is not a large restaurant, but everything on their menu has been great. They have the best teriyaki sauce from any Japanese restaurant or habachi restaurant. It is very flavorful but not overly sweat like a lot of teriyakis. We have gotten many of the specialty rolls and they a decent size with a decent amount of fish, but is excellent quality. Never fishy, incredibly fresh... A lot of them are very creative as well and every day they do have specials that have come in fresh that day, don't be afraid to ask they are always helpful with recommendations! Great place for someone that is willing to try something a little different or just traditional good quality...
Read moreThis place is a hidden gem! While at work in town, I eat here at least twice a week, I would go more, but I might get mercury poisoning. It looks like a normal cheap sushi restaurant, but that is because they are catering to the people in this area, but the chef is Manhattan Top Notch Sushi Omakase trained (I think he use to work at Nobu and Morimoto in New York).
If you have the high quality expensive palette like me, because I live in Manhattan New York now, order the Supreme Omakase Sushi! It is probably the best deal you'll ever get on Omakase Sushi.
He flies the fish in weekly from Tokyo on Tuesday I believe, so best time to go is Wednesday. I've been begging the sushi chef to open a place in Manhattan, so I can eat it more often.
I usually never order anything else, but I ordered the Tom Yum soup once and it was delicious. Apparently the kitchen hands are all Thai, so their thai...
