NIGHTMARE, DONT MAKE A RESERVATION! I do not even know where to begin. I booked a reservation for 25 people on the Restaurant that I used to love. I arrived at the restaurant and my table was not even ready. I kindly waited for almost 30 minutes and finally they gave me a table for 11. I was not happy and I immediately asked to speak to the manager. Jorge( the manager that I spoke to) came up to me with an attitude that I did not appreciate. He gave me an attitude while I was trying to explain to him, that I had booked a reservation for 25 guests two weeks in advanced. I sent emails, I confirmed and I called. I was never told that I was not allowed to book on a Friday a party of 25. I spoke and I wrote to so many people and there weren’t any signs that anything was wrong. The situation got out of control. When people starting arriving, they were standing next to the table as Jorge was serving other tables. Jaime , the most amazing server, was doing the managers job. I wanted to walk away, but my friends came from Waterbury and they were hungry. As the guests came in, they had no menus, no silverware, and no water at the table. The manager only assigned one person for this party. I cannot believe, that still in this day, and time, in this town where we are multicultural, we have a racist manager running a Mexican Restaurant. Language and race should not be a problem. NEVER! I was humiliated, I was dissatisfied, I was disappointed and I was embarrassed. I do not recommend this place. Let me remind anyone that is reading this, that I use to visit this restaurant once a month! The old management was amazing! This manager is incompetent and rude and nobody needs to go through what we went through. I tried to have a good time but it was impossible. I am hoping that Coorporate reaches out to me because this cannot happen again, and as I was reading the reviews I see that this manager has no great reviews. Remember that greater chains sink when the management is poor, and they really don’t care. Last but not least, this so called manager didn’t come to my table not even once, to see if everything was ok! He didn’t even help the staff to deliver our food while he was delivering, talking and mingling with all the tables around us. Poor guy! He was threatened by Portuguese, Ecuadorian and Puertorican people. What a shame! STAY AWAY FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT! At the end of the night, one of the servers dropped a bottle on my head and I wasn’t even able to get ice or an I’m sorry from anyone. There was no incident report written either. WHAT A SHAME! NEVER VISITING THIS PLACE AGAIN, I FO NOT RECOMMEND IT!
The answer that was given at the end of this review is a reflection of the many times I visited this restaurant! The guests in my party will like to speak to the owner but we cannot reach him or her. Please help us...
Read moreFood is delicious and The jumbo Margaritas are the best. The reason I'm giving a one-star is strictly on the service. I always call restaurants before showing up to make sure that there isn't need for a reservation. Every time I call this place I get attitude received back. the first time I called to make a reservation I was told that they were not accepting any reservations and it was first come first show and then hung up the phone. I thought nothing of it because they sounded busy. today I called to make a reservation for four people to sit outside in the igloos. I made my reservation the woman on the phone told me make sure your whole party shows up because they will not be able to seat me if not everybody is there meaning all four people had to be there. This was no issue for me since we were all coming together. unfortunately a couple minutes went by before two of my party had canceled. I called back and spoke to the same woman and told them can I decrease my reservation to two people and she responded we can only see four more people in the igloos in a very nasty tone and then told me if I wanted to sit inside no reservation was needed and hung up the phone. the whole conversation was not more than 1 minute long because how fast and rude does she spoke to me before hanging up the phone abruptly. I couldn't even get one word in or ask to be seated inside and make a reservation since we would be coming at 6:00. With this happening more than once I will be taking my service elsewhere. they have good authentic Mexican cuisine but there are more in the area that are...
Read moreIf there were a restaurant that focused entirely on maintaining an appealing exterior while neglecting everything behind the kitchen doors, this would be the one. I was taken aback when my shrimp platter arrived, which supposedly included a side of Mexican-style vegetables. Instead, I received a generous serving of frozen mixed veggies from Walmart, featuring typical large pieces of cauliflower, broccoli, and zucchini slices. They were hardly steamed at all—crunchy and devoid of any flavor. What kind of Mexican establishment serves such blandly cooked vegetables? My experience here left me feeling quite exploited; I paid $27 for seven dry shrimp wrapped in bacon alongside those lackluster frozen veggies without any seasoning to enhance their taste. The bell peppers were particularly disappointing—crisp as if they had been hastily chopped and merely warmed up rather than cooked properly. They simply tossed them onto the plate along with five pounds of mozzarella and some shrimp on top! The skirt steak cut that my wife got was alarmingly thin and greasy too. I should have known when I saw enchiladas made with flour tortillas instead of corn. Puerto Vallarta Danbury seems more interested in putting on a show and plating in an elegant manner rather than prioritizing food quality. It’s hard to believe it maintains a four-star rating; it feels like there may be some review manipulation happening here. May I add that our food took an hour to come out? Not only did you steal my money, but you stole my time as well.
