Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlor in Dania Beach, FL, exceeded our expectations. My partner, Anthony, and I enjoyed a mouthwatering Reuben sandwich with delectable Sweet Potato Fries. We indulged in the Oreo Sundae, a heavenly creation we customized to include the rich, velvety goodness of Oreo, Pistachio, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream.
It would have been a great experience if my review stopped there. However, what truly set this visit to Jaxson's apart is the exceptional service. Despite it being packed, our server, Kara, made us feel like we were her top priority. From the moment we were seated, Kara was engaging, polite, and incredibly proactive. She ensured our orders were taken promptly and accurately, making us feel cared for throughout our meal.
I must also give a special shoutout to Marsha, a shining example of kindness and attentiveness. While waiting for someone to seat me, I politely cleared a space for a mother and her children to enter the store. However, even though I was there before her, the mom quickly requested a table for 4 when the host arrived to seat the waiting patrons. She effectively cut me in line. I sighed silently and did not want to let it ruin my night or make an issue of it. Marsha swiftly came to my rescue. She reassured me with a smile and eye contact, saying, 'I’ve got you; I’ll be right back.' Those few words may seem small, but they made a world of difference to my mood. It was like a much-needed hug I didn’t even know I needed. In a world where negativity can easily overshadow positivity, Marsha’s simple act of kindness was a beacon of light.
Furthermore, Marsha showed kindness to my partner, who is using a crutch and is wearing a soft cast boot. She not only escorted him to our table but also made sure he was comfortable.
As we left Jaxson’s, Marsha continued to engage with us, thanked us for visiting, and welcomed us to return, thus reinforcing our belief in the power of exceptional service. It doesn’t have to be overcomplicated. Sometimes, it’s just a few words and being in the moment that makes all the difference. It was her warmth and genuine care that inspired me to write this review.
I want to extend my gratitude to her, Kara, and the entire staff at Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlor. You are all shining examples of how kindness and top-notch service can thrive, even amid a busy restaurant with birthday celebrations every 30 seconds. Thank you for making our visit truly special. Thank you for feeding our bellies, satisfying our sweet tooth and...
Read moreOur family drove to Jaxson’s from Palmetto Bay to get out of the house and to try something new. I had seen a lot of positive things said about Jaxson’s, so I was excited to try it. We arrived about 6pm on a Saturday night. There were two long lines when we got there. One was for Takeout only, and the other was for Dining in. There didn’t seem to be a sign to distinguish between the two, so I asked. We wanted to dine in. We waited about 15 minutes in line. Everyone was wearing masks in both lines. Once we were inside, we waited a bit longer in the gift shop. I loved the vibe already. Lots of vintage sodas, of which my daughter chose one to take home. Once seated we looked at the menu via our phones (no touch menu). The waitress brought us a free bowl of popcorn. There was a lot more than what I’d seen online before going up. I was pleasantly surprised to find some healthy salad options. We ordered onion rings as an appetizer. It came on a cute airplane frame, with two sauces on the side- honey mustard and creole remoulade. It was a perfect sized appetizer for 4 people. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad. It was huge. It turned out to be three meals for me. My daughter got a root beer float. Even with everyone trying some, she wasn’t able to finish. My other daughter got a tuna wrap. She ate half of it and took the other half home. It came with cole slaw and a pickle wedge. The pickle seemed to not be fully pickled- it still looked like a cucumber and wasn’t crisp. We also did not like the cole slaw, but other than that, it was really good. My husband got the hot dog with bacon and cheese on it, and a side of fries. This also turned out to be three meals. The hot dog looked to be the length of 4 hot dogs. It was very filling, and very heavy, with all of the toppings. My other daughter got a fried chicken sandwich. It came with the creole remoulade sauce that she loved. She ate about half of it and took the rest home. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit. It was a bit late, otherwise it would have been nice to go to the boardwalk afterwards. We’ll have to head up earlier next time. In total our bill was a little over $100 for 6 people. Not everyone got a meal, but there was plenty of food. Average cost is...
Read moreI'm currently down in Florida for vacation. While down here we decided to check out a world famous ice cream place. I have to be honest with you I have never heard of it before. Everyone in Florida swears by it.
The menu touts homemade ice cream. The menu talks about a huge assortment of flavors. Allow me to tell you that everything the menu says is true.
We let the children order anything they wanted thank God they didn't go crazy. I got to meet one of my friends down here from South Carolina. So I assumed the kids would request the kitchen sink. This restaurant claims they had the original kitchen sink but I'm sure my mom would tell me that was incorrect and it originally came from Jan's.
The ice creams we had my daughter and I split a chocolate chip cookie sundae which was a cookie the size of a dinner plate covered by three of the biggest scoops of chocolate chip ice cream I have ever seen. The chocolate chips in it were not chips they were more like boulders of actual good quality chocolate.
My friend had a peanut butter lovers Sunday which was chocolate ice cream covered with the thickest peanut butter sauce I have seen in a really long time. My wife had a similar thing.
Sophia his daughter had mint chocolate chip cone which was unbelievably good and tasty and she said she didn't like the cone.
And of course my son had two scoops of chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup talk about boring.
I did what I normally do and started talking to the people at the table next to us and they ordered the kitchen sink there were seven of them and this thing was ginormous. The kitchen sink according to the menu comes with 1 lb of ice cream per person. They don't even go by scoops on this thing but one pound of ice cream you'll see pictures on it later on.
If you're ever in South Florida and have some time check out Jackson's for ice cream. Although they are not a partner with this page tell them you read about...
