Davenport just hit the jackpot with the new Micky’s Irish Pub! As a longtime fan of the Iowa City location, I had high hopes—and wow, did they deliver. So much so that I went twice on opening day. Lunchtime: I bellied up to the (massive) bar—twice the size of the original and set up in a way that just feels right. The vibe? Perfect. Friendly bartenders, the right mix of buzz and comfort, and world-famous cheese fries that taste just as magical as ever. They come with two ranch, but I’m a sauce connoisseur, so I went for buffalo and 1000 island—perfection. Pair that with an NA Guinness that tastes like the real deal (seriously, who knew?) and it was the ultimate lunchtime win. Oh, and I introduced my friend to his first Baby Guinness shot—a personal fave from back in the day. Dinner: Round two! This time, I brought a friend, and the free popcorn instantly transported me back to Iowa City—something about that salty, buttery nostalgia just hits different. I went for the shrimp salad with parmesan ranch (delicious!), and my friend had the Reuben, which he declared the best in the QC. And he knows his Reubens. Service? Fantastic. Beer list? Stacked. Atmosphere? Warm, welcoming, and effortlessly cool. Whether you’re a longtime Micky’s lover or a first-timer, this place is gonna be a staple. Cheers to the team for bringing a true classic to the QC!

The one thing that turned me off when it was Ruby's was that it was so loud in there. They have done nothing to soften the industrial reverb of the inside! Still an acoustic nightmare. It's an Irish Pub and not one Irish thing inside. Irish themed menu. Food was great. But coming from someone who's Irish. I expected the inside to be redone and different. I'm gonna try and go again when it's summer and the doors can be open and outside options will be available.

I’ve been to Micky’s Irish Pub a couple of times, and it’s a good spot overall. It can get pretty busy on weekend nights, but the service has always been solid. My food came out quickly, and my server, Faith, was really nice and attentive. The sandwich I had was just not bad, but nothing special. Still, the atmosphere is great, and it’s a fun place to grab a drink and some food. I’d definitely come back!

Honestly, I wouldn't have expected such a lousy visit tonight. Tonights service really casted a large shadow over the other times we've been here. We went in for dinner tonight with friends who haven't been here before. We really talked them up for it. We were seated really quickly but then sat for over 20 minutes without even being greated by a waitress. Everyone was being taken care of around us and had drinks and food. We weren't even offered drinks at all. There was plenty of wait staff. They were busy but not slammed. We got up and walked out. One of the waitresses who helped seat us noticed and frowned but didn't even try to stop us. Hopefully no one else experiences what we did this evening. We might refrain from visiting this...

2nd experience here. First time had wings which were huge and crispy!! I had spicy garlic with the bleu cheese dressing!! All the sauces and dressings are house made and delicious!! Also tried the fried pickles and those were soo soo good!! Today, my girlfriend had BBQ chicken sandwich. Tasty BBQ dressing. I had the fried pickle sandwich!! The swiss cheese with the chicken breast and the pickle just blended very well together!! Chicken breast was tasty and juicy!! Had us some onion rings as well which were to die for!! I highly recommend this place! Our server, Zoe...
