I came here with a party of 8 and the restaurant was more than happy to accommodate us! This was my first time ever coming here so I didn't know what to expect. The appetizers we ordered were amazing. The spinach artichoke dip was better than anything I have had before, it's just on another level from places like Olive Garden or Applebee's. The pita chips are heavily seasoned and soft with a little kick that's complimented beautifully with the dip! The dill mushrooms were really good too, I didn't think the dill was very prominent but the cheese on top was a nice touch. Not pictured was some fried ravioli one of the other guests ordered, that was also great! If we were reviewing appetizers alone this place would get 5 stars all day long! Unfortunately, where the excitement began it was slowly overshadowed by a lackluster entree and sides. The Caesar salad that came out first was just gross. It has plenty of sauce and the croutons were nice and crunchy, but the entire salad tasted like pesticide. This was confirmed by another guest at the table. The horseradish encrusted salmon was another major disappointment. The mushroom rice pilaf the salmon arrived on was very bland. The rice was cooked perfectly, there was just no flavor. I ordered my salmon medium rare, unfortunately it was very overcooked to a medium well. The horseradish crust was very subtle tasting but a nice addition to the dish, but not enough to help mask how dry the salmon was. When you're paying a premium for an entree, you expect more. My wife ordered the shrimp scampi alfredo that was actually pretty good, though it could have used a little more sauce. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. We decided to check out the martinis since it's in the name of the restaurant. I went with the Apple Fashion that is pictured, it was pretty good! The first sip was very strong, but it mellowed out slightly as it went down. Other guests in our party ordered some form of beef and we're not disappointed with their orders. On a separate note, the restroom is located down a flight of stairs in the basement and is a little sketchy, but clean nonetheless. Overall it was a positive experience. The service was great and the appetizers are amazing, but I will certainly not be ordering fish the next time I go. The drinks, in my opinion, taste delicious but are overpriced. It's definitely worth checking out at least once. I recommend this restaurant.

Supporting local businesses during the Quad Cities restaurant week October 11-24. Tonight we tried @phoenix_davenport and was definitely impressed 👌 Their 2-week SPECIAL: $25 per person includes choice of Salad or Soup, Entrée & Cheesecake*. . Pictured is there "Pistachio Encrusted Salmon" a 8oz wild caught Atlantic salmon filet topped with a Boetje’s mustard, pistachio and panko crust. Served with mushroom rice pilaf & vegetable medley. AMAZING!! 10 out 10 ⭐ Best salmon I've ever had!!. . Second picture 👈 is there "Sesame Encrusted Ahi Tuna" - 8oz wild caught Ahi Yellow Fin tuna filet pan seared with sesame oil & blackening spices & topped with a housemade pineapple orange sesame glaze. Served with coconut rice & Asian slaw. 7 out 10 ⭐. . 👈 Cranberry Walnut Salad 🥗 8 out 10 ⭐. . 👈 Stuffed jalapeno poppers 🌶🌶🌶🌶. 6 out 10 ⭐ . 👈 Cheesecake flavors pictured were expreso mocha and vanilla bean 🍰🍰 7 out 10 ⭐. . So I don't do a lot of poor reviews but this was not a great experience. Seated right away but we sat for a good 10 minutes before the server showed up. She was largely inattentive as I waited another 10 minutes to get iced tea. Ordered two appetizers, the mushrooms were tasty but the onion rings were poorly presented and seemed like they were not homemade. My main dish was just good, not great. The open kitchen was sort of cool but I watched as the kitchen staff and a server kept touching the food with bare hands. Also, what is up with the refrigerator in the dining room where the kitchen staff has to walk by tables to use it? Not thrilled overall or inclined to return.

I will start with the positive. The food was very good, and the man who brought our waters and silverware was very nice.

The waitress however was very rude. We had a large party there for a bachelorette party. 14 of us. And no, we were not a rowdy obnoxious bunch. One of the guests is 9 months pregnant, and the rest are nurses and other professionals. We wanted to have a nice evening where we got dresses up and had a nice dinner to celebrate the upcoming wedding.

Our reservation was for 7:30, The waitress got our drink order not long after that, so off to a good start, even though she was not being very friendly and appeared to be put off to have a large group in her section. I asked for lemon for my water and she literally scoffed and said "Yeah, when i get to it" (for the sake of the review she did not ever bring me the lemon.)

We did not get our drinks or see our waitress again until after 8:20! over 45 minutes to get our drinks! We had to ask her if she was going to take our food order, which she did, again seemingly annoyed to have a large group. After she took the food order she was gone for several minutes then returned to inform us it was going to be AN HOUR for our food! She was very rude and acted like it was our fault. we asked to speak to a manager.

When the manager came she was also very rude, and actually combative, instigating arguments and blaming us for the situation. She said "well, YOU made a reservation for 7:30 on a Saturday, you cant expect us to have your food in 20 minutes, we have been packed all night." I reminded her that we sat there for literally 45 minutes before we even got our drinks, and that had the waitress gotten our order in a timely way like every other restaurant I have ever eaten at this would not have been an issue. We then also reminded her that we ARE a large party, all wanting to give her establishment our money, and next time we will gladly take our business elsewhere.

Again, for the sake of this review they were Not packed. They were actually winding down and had a lot of empty tables, and ours was the only group in the place.

She got very pushy and rude and said "well do you just want appetizers?" and we said No. We made DINNER reservations so that we could eat a nice meal before we proceeded with our evening. This whole thing was throwing a monkey wrench in the whole evening. We had arranged for a limo to pick us up to take us to Icon's in Rock Island (which was fabulous, as always) after dinner, and now the whole time table was off.

She went and talked to the kitchen and came back and told us it would be about 25 minutes for our food. We decided that was ok.

It was still 45 minutes and we did not get our meals until after 9.

Like I said, the food was good. But I paid $23 for a small salad, a cup of soup, bruschetta and terrible service. Not worth it. Will never EVER...

Excelent Food. We'll be back! My husband and I went to Davenport to see a play at the Adler Theatre. We were thinking of going to Woodfire Grill because of the reviews we had read, but were very glad we didn't!

Instead, we walked less than a block down the street and had a wonderful meal at The Phoenix. We were sat right away and the hostess informed us we would definitely make it on time to the play (we did). The only negative I have is that the food took some time to prepare, but it was well worth the wait! I had a dish with three pieces of chicken stuffed and wrapped different ways. Each bite was fantastic! My husband had the chipotle tuna and asked our waitress for her opinion on a wine to pair with it. The waitress was very knowledgeable and recommended the perfect red wine (which he probably wouldn't have thought to order with fish). We were completely thrilled with the service and great food we received. Unlike many restaurants that give you ten pages of food items to sift through (some of which may not be as good), this restaurant has a two-page menu and our experience is that they've chosen each carefully to deliver high quality.

The next time we're in Davenport, we will be back to try some of those skewers we saw...
