NOT taking accountability is bad service and as other reviews recently stated: your business has bad customer service and rude teenage employees. By your rude response, I see why! I visited once and it was very generic. I will also tell my 12,000 colleagues not to visit. Your shop won’t be on our recommended business list and I also won’t list your business in our lake Norman business advertising. Grow up and learn how to run a business. I guess you don’t know how witchcraft works. I’m not sure your body will hold water after I work this 🪄 HAPPY HALLOWEEN 🎃 They call me a real witch for a reason.

The cashier with curly hair 9/10/24 was friendly but the girl making the custard was AWFULLY RUDE and even rolled her eyes at me for no reason. When she placed my custard on the counter she didn’t tell me it was mine and she just walked off, so I asked her if it was for me and again she rolled her eyes and said yes. We love Whit’s….we go there often. Here’s my issue. It’s 9:25 on a Friday night, 5/24, when the four of us enter the establishment. All the chairs are placed up on the tables. If we wanted to sit down “inside” and enjoy our custard we would have to pull down the chairs in order to sit at one of the tables. Why is this done 35 minutes prior to closing? As we approach the order taker we were abruptly informed they only had one more serving of vanilla custard remaining. Secondly, they were already out of the flavor of the day which a couple of us specifically wanted that evening. How do you run out of vanilla, your primary base flavor 35 minutes before closing time??? Three of us have to default to chocolate based flavors. It seems apparent to all of us that the 4 teenagers running the place that evening are all in a rush to get the heck out of there as soon as the clock strikes 10:00. As we sat outside with our custard we watched customer after customer file in through the doors only to be told the same thing. , We heard disappointed murmurs from other customers as well. There are multiple Whit's locations, but this review is specifically for the Davidson one (although I am biased, as a Davidson College graduate). First of all, wish this was here when I was a student!! Second, this Whit's has such a home-y feel, in a little section of town with old brick buildings. I don't know what the building was before, but I can tell it has some history, which makes it so cozy and cute.

Not a ton of space to sit inside, so many people take their custards outdoors to the benches. I love to carefully drive it back to the Davidson campus and eat it by Phi hall (built in 1850!), near Chambers, the main academic building. Regardless of where you eat it, though, it beats any of the other frozen custard shops in the area. So smooth and flavorful, with delicious topping options. Always friendly employees. Hardly any wait for the custard to come out.
