Billy's Tavern — Restaurant in Davie

Went to this place for the first time yesterday after reading such great views and I was not disappointed! I spoke with Sammy the hostess over the phone and she was lovely and kind.

Ambience - Cozy Steelers themed sports bar. Inside and outside seating. Even though there were a lot of people, it didn't feel crowded or noisy. Best way to describe it is a Sunday afternoon vibe watching football with family.

Service - everyone was very friendly. The food came out lightning fast. I think we were seated for less than 10 minutes after ordering and our food was already coming out. Food was nice and hot!

Food - My bf and I ordered the Rothelisburger, the Smokehouse Burger, the pierogies and chicken wings. The pierogies were definitely something I'd never had before. They were little pan fried dumplings with sautéed onions on the plate and a side of sour cream. The texture was nice. Crunchy outside and soft inside. I thought they were a little on the bland side, but the sour cream helped amp them up. Nice touch! The chicken wings with the Myong sauce were delicious! Perfectly crispy and juicy. The Myong sauce had some asian inspired undertones, which is great for me since I love asian food. I only wished it was spicier since I love the heat, but still very delicious and I'd order that sauce again just maybe with a side of extra hot sauce to mix in it. :) The chicken wings were arguably on the skinny side, but frankly, I prefer them like that. They have the perfect amount of meat for me and I loved every bite of them. The burgers were out of this world good. Cooked medium and super juicy! The Rothelisburger came with sautéed onions, mushrooms, jalapeños and swiss cheese. The smokehouse burger came with sautéed onions, cheddar cheese and two huge pieces of bacon. The bun was soft and pillowy. And we ordered a side fries. Both were under seasoned to me, but again, it works for me because I like the option of adding the salt myself. Added a little salt and it was next level. All this food for around $50 and so many leftovers - you can't beat that.

So I'm in the food industry myself and being a server I am much more forgiving than a normal person. My boyfriend and I went there for dinner on a Saturday evening. They weren't very busy and we were immediately seated by an inviting young lady. After being seated though, not an enjoyable serving experience. Even though the establishment wasn't packed, we were rarely checked in on and we had to ask for the basics... napkins, refills or any other things as a server I would have automatically been astute to. It took us 11 minutes to have our cc run after having to ask which if she was busy is totally understandable but I looked around... it wasn't the case . I am a polite and mannered person so to feel more of a burden as a customer was a bit much. Amongst the issues with the service though, the food was pleasurable and tasty. I had the veggie quesadilla and the fried chicken sandwich with sweet potato ff. The chicken was crispy and a wonderful size portion accompanied with The sweeties having delicious marshmallow sauce on the side. My boyfriend had the boneless wings which he absolutely loved as well as the smokehouse burger which while it was a bit under done, he still enjoyed the flavor. Food was disgusting! Way over priced number one ! Order chicken wings they didn't even have my lemon pepper called me 20 minutes after two minutes after the fact to let me know which is the main reason why I ordered from their business was because I seen on the menu they had lemon pepper chicken wings another reason why I had a bad experience I ordered. Peel and eat shrimp it was rubbery he they obviously did not thaw them out good enough because they were drenched in water and the cocktail sauce that they had was obviously not prepared proportionally it had way too much horse radish In it . Not to mention I asked for them to be well done once they were delivered they were very under cooked not a bit of crisp . This has not been the first time I have ordered from them and was very dissatisfied with the outcome on both occasions and I do not plan on ordering from there again. It took an hour for the food to even arrive it was so bad that even the company that transports the food to the house called me and gave me a five dollar off coupon off my next order due to the fact they were sitting in the parking lot waiting 20 minutes so they knew I had to be upset by then and I live less than five minutes away never again will I order from...
