Tower Deli and Diner — Restaurant in Davie

Went here for the 1st time today and was treated unbelievably rude so I walked out & left. Went to look at the menu online before going right when they open at 7am only to be prompted to place an online order by their website...Upon doing so, I was again prompted by website to add coupon of $10 off $15 order, intrigued I actually changed and added to my order to make it $15 to take advantage of this coupon they're throwing in my face. I arrive, woman at counter practically scolds me for placing an online order and tells me they don't use their website anymore like I should somehow know this. Tells me the manager/owner told me not to use website anymore (never been here before) but that THEY DID RECEIVE MY ORDER (which has my phone # and email by the way—no call, email back, cancellation, apology or real explanation) and put it my order. She also mentioned that she'd speak to "her" when "she gets in". Translation, owner is magically aware of my order first thing in the morning from a website that they don't use but instructed employee on how to handle it (terribly) and also isn't at the location. I was baffled by how rudely I was being spoken to at 7 in the morning as a first time customer. She didn't ask me if I'd like something else instead, or even mention the price (which was apparently the only issue, it seems their website works fine), or apologize for any miscommunication, she just goes "I'll check on the order, this is for you"...I then look at a $20 total on their screen (instead of $8) for an eggs breakfast and almost burst out laughing, then walked out & next door to Dunkin. It was too uncomfortable at that point to even cancel this "non-order" from their "non-website" and order something else as I wasn't asked and was treated like I was trying to scam them or something???–instead of the reverse! This all occurred because I went & looked at their website which prompted me to build a bigger & more expensive order! Nobody should be treated this way, especially first thing in the morning. WILL NOT BE HEADING HERE AGAIN, I DON'T EVEN WANT TO LOOK AT THIS PLACE FROM THE ROAD WHILE I...

I waited to be seated while two tables were empty. Minutes later, the hostess asked if I wanted to sit at either table. When I ordered my food, I asked if I could get a cafe mocha, and the waitress said yes. She didn’t tell me that the coffee would be cold, have whip cream, and is more expensive than a regular coffee. My smoked salmon platter had whitefish with hundreds of bones in it, and had I known ahead of time, I would have substituted it for something easier to eat. While I was eating, my waitress put my bill on the table. This made me feel uncomfortable and never happens at other restaurants. I noticed the extra charge on my coffee, so when I told the hostess, she spoke to a manager and got it reduced to the regular price. I would have given 1 or 2 stars, but the staff were kind and checked in on me periodically. Sadly, I sat at my table with my bill and card in my hand, waiting for nearly 10 minutes for the waitress to pick it up. No waitress noticed until the hostess and I made eye contact, and she said, “You can pay up at the front desk”. I wish I was told that ahead of time. They made a ton of assumptions and didn’t communicate effectively with me. This place seems like it caters to “regulars” that know what to do and have telepathy. Our friends Steve and Susan saw a post on Facebook for an “ Acoustic Guitar Music Night” . Last night was our second Friday that we attended . And I am writing to tell all not to miss the last one on July 26. Judging from last night‘s crowd please get there early . Where to start? Tower deli , now Tower deli and Diner has been a Davie staple for over thirty years .As Ben the owner said, “ we have breakfast and lunch down pat! Let me tell him they have the dinner menu down pat as well. We had a fantastic Pear and Gorgonzola salad . My entree was a turkey avocado cheddar melt with coleslaw. I am an avocado lover so one can imagine how tasteful and enjoyable the melt was. Ben serves up the freshest and sweetest coleslaw in town! The night was even more magical when we were served by Teresa. I am glad to see her now working here . Teresa is a professional . She treats all customers like family. Last night she waited on all present with charm and a friendly attitude and never skipped a beat!🎼🎼🎹pun intended! ! I plan to see you all...
