Dozo, which is located in Downtown Dayton, OH, is an amazing sushi restaurant situated within the same space as their sister concept, Tender Mercy. Per their website, "Located in the back room of Tender Mercy, Dozo is not your typical Midwestern sushi restaurant. The eclectic and appointed atmosphere and the refined hospitality provide a foundation for an innovative menu of contemporary sushi expressions featuring premium fish, crafted and curated in ways wholly original to Dayton."
I have to preface this review by saying that I did not visit Dozo specifically. However, I did recently visit Tender Mercy with my boyfriend for a night cap after dinner at Sueño, and they offer Dozo's menu at the bar. Looking forward to returning in the future to try Dozo as a full experience...

I had the wine pairing with it and each one was very interesting. I’m usually pretty picky with wines but out of the four glasses there wasn’t a single one I disliked. Overall very pleasant experience, I would...
Read moreThis is a true five star experience that we are lucky to have in Dayton. The tasting experience is always unique, fresh, and extremely flavorful. The chef clearly puts a lot of effort and intent into each bite. Whether you choose a wine pairing or pick your own cocktails, you’re certainly going to have a good compliment to the high quality and fresh fish. The only “knock” that I could see someone having is the size of the meal. But this is a classic example of quality...
