I was at bike week and I walked pass this place 3 times because the line was so long and if you see that then you know it's good! So the 4th time i waited in line when i finally came up to the serving area i was greeted with smiles and love! I ordered the Ox tails ,greens,black eye peas and rice deep dish cornbread and i will tell you this the food is constant and the best soul food i ever tasted it was just like grandmoms sunday dinner!!!!! Now it's so good that i will take a 2 hour drive from north Florida just to get that taste of love in my tummy. All jokes aside if you like soul food please check them out the food is out of site! If someone recommended this location for some home cooked soulfood you would not be faulted for questioning their taste but after ordering and eating my meal on the beach I can confidently say this is some of the best soul food I've ever heard. Nothing missed a beat. The Mac was rich creamy and perfectly cooked. The green beans had just the right amount of salt and flavor to compliment my entree. The meatloaf had to be baked in marble oven with gold trimming because it had no business being that good and the glaze for it was the perfect mix of tangy and sweet. We discovered Ms. Carla’s kitchen on accident when we were exploring Daytona Beach and its local markets and corner-stores. What a delightful discovery. Affordable prices and delicious food. I couldn’t ask for a better hole in the wall. My husband got the roasted chicken plate with some Mac and cheese, cabbage and cornbread. I got the corned beef with the same sides. Both dishes were delicious, my taste buds were doin the happy dance.
