First and foremost I came to this place a number of times and I enjoyed their food. I would give it a five however, my issue with this place is the people that work here! Not sure if it’s family ran or what not but whoa the cleanliness of this establishment which is a very small place NEEDS a workshop/class on cross-contamination on cleanliness even a lil 101 ….Yes they do wear clear gloves, but it is clear they are not wearing them for the reason they are meant for in a restaurant. I literally watched the COOK a number of times skinny dude curly hair very comfortable back there rub his nose with his gloves on, full fledge scratch his arm pit and then pick up someone’s hotdog bun and continue cooking on the stove, (imagine what you don’t see! Yuck!!) in the back later where we had parked he was messing with the barbecue…. GLOVES STILL ON! so for me, it was kind of like a picture is worth 1 million words, he had no clue the level of disgust. He was showing me and hopefully the rest of the patriots that were sitting there. THAN the cashier had her gloves on as well l, She took the money put it in her cash register. I told her that she can keep the change and she just stuffed in her jar and went in the back and moved on. No thank you no nothing, notta! It was almost a sense of entitlement and to me it was all foolishness particularly tipping is not a must! it’s a kindness and she had none (as far as customer service) she was wearing her gloves as well. Went back there started doing whatever she was doing. Came back out hands all over my bag etc etc etc…….unfortunately, with that being said, I will no longer go to this establishment unfortunately after making this review, I hope that they address the situation because they have a good thing going !!

Finally a good halal brisket place in michigan. For reference I ordered the brisket dinner (tip: order it chunky, point only, no flat). The total (as of Aug 2023) was $27.55. It comes with brisket, one side of bbq sauce, Mac and cheese, Cole slaw, and corn bread. Part of me expected to be disappointed as I'm used to competition level brisket in Texas and I've been disappointed by the halal bbq in Dearborn before. This place though got it right. The brisket was phenomenal, the Cole slaw was excellent, and the corn bread was perfect. The mac and cheese isn't exactly my style but it was still great. Only real complaint is that for the amount of food they should give two sauces by default. Honestly the price is steep but you're definitely paying for quality. It's enough for one person if they're really hungry, but I can see two people reasonably sharing it especially if you got a dessert on the side to split too. 10/10 though, would absolutely recommend. Note: I believe the bbq is only available Fri-Sun but better to call beforehand and double check.

This place is a hidden gem, I did not even realize I work only a few miles away from here. I plan to frequent this place during lunch now. The inside has seating for about 10-12 people max. The staff is friendly and supportive, they helped me decide on what to eat since I was stuck between their standard and barbecue menu. The loaded fries are a must, you can choose a different type of cheese, its brisket style steak, fries, and delicious sauce. The meat melts in your mouth and pairs well with the dish. One order is enough to share between two unless you are particularly hungry. I received my order fairly quick, had a chicken burger which I would recommend to the staff to make spicy, the normal one is a bit bland so I had to add hot sauce to it. Other than that, great place and a must try.

Drove almost an hour to come check this place out after all the rave on social media. We came out in celebration of my buddy’s birthday. We got there on a Sunday at 6PM so i should’ve seen what was to come. We drove out there to try their “Sunday Ribs special” but they didn’t have any on a Sunday and informed us that they are made only on some days depending on when the owner makes them. They were out of BBQ sauce as well. We ordered our combo meals, went to get some pop and the pop was all flat... my buddy ordered the loaded Mac and asked for them to add bacon, they forgot the bacon. His wife ordered the detroiter with no mayo, they added mayo. His mac n cheese was really dry and cold and the cheese was rubbery and looked like it sat in the kitchen all day. Now i had the aljooms BBQ burger and i enjoyed it, my wife ordered a burger as well and she enjoyed hers as well. But it wasn’t a meal/experience that was worth the drive for us unfortunately. We didn’t get offered any kind of compensation for the experience so out of frustration my wife demanded to at least be compensated for the flat drinks and the nice girl upfront did give us our money back for the drinks.

I’m all about supporting local businesses but in the restaurant industry, consistency has to be priority and it was unfortunate that we had this experience but im pretty sure if we came in during a busy hour on a Saturday, this wouldn’t have been the case.

All in all, the food was ok and the staff meant well but I’m not sure if I’d make that drive again...
