We ordered the District 12 burger and the 8-ball Burger, with fries and drinks. We also both had a shake and shared an order of wings. One birthday cake and one apple pie shake. Delivery of the food to our table was a nice touch, so we're not just standing around the lobby. The cashier possessed good customer service skills. She was a little shy, but still got her job done! The food takes a few minutes to arrive because it is cooked to order. The wings were boneless, with a honey Sriracha sauce, and were fresh and delicious. The price seemed a little steep, but the burgers were a healthy portion and tasty. The buns were fresh and soft. A pretty large serving of french fries comes along the side. When ordering, we were asked if we wanted regular or Cajun French fries. Just a heads up, Cajun means that they will sprinkle some seasoned salt on them. I caution you to avoid the shakes! They are simply vanilla custard with stir ins. The birthday cake shakes have no flavor of birthday cake whatsoever. They are simply vanilla custard with a ton of cake sprinkles poured in. The apple pie shake has just what seems to be a canned apple pie filling blended into the custard. This restaurant is located in quite a quaint little Eatery neighborhood. There is a public parking lot about a block and a half from the restaurant, that is free, but the walk was enjoyable taking in the sights. Our total cost for two burgers, 2 fries, 2 cokes, 2 shakes and a small order of...
Read moreSummary - A very safe basic restaurant in an upscale environment at a hotel.
Details - Food (3) : The food was decent, but it was very traditional. It seemed geared for people who don't want to be surprised by their food.
Venue (2): The place was nicely decorated. I went during lunch, and at this time it felt large to the point of feeling empty. It did not really feel comfortable. Might feel different at dinner.
Service (4): The service was good. All the staff seemed really friendly and upbeat.
Price (2): The food seemed a little overpriced for what it was. The place in general felt a little pretentious, which I think was reflected in their prices. To be fair, I've only been once for lunch.
Crowd (2): The crowd was entirely slightly formal business types. Nothing to complain about.
Location (2): It was located in a hotel nearby to the main Ford campus. It's definitely aimed at business types, and if you're in the area to work with Ford it could be very convenient. Since it's next to the main Ford campus it's also nearby the Henry Ford museum. Other than that, there didn't seem to be much else in the immediate area to check out.
What's good? - The wait staff were very friendly, and I appreciated that.
What needs improvement? - It seems like a bit of a stuffy place for lunch time. The food didn't seem to take too many risks, so while it won't be bad, it also isn't likely...
Read moreI was visiting my bestfriend & wanted to try something different for food, we came across District 12 on Google and decided to give it a try. The staff was friendly & helpful, the young man who took our order recommended the buffalo wings… regretfully I forgot to take a picture of those as they were SO good. I’m a wing connoisseur and when I say that I’ve never tasted wings like this before, I mean it. They were the largest boneless wings I’ve ever seen. The batter was perfectly crisp and the big hunks of white meat were juicy and tender, NO FAT. Now the most impressive part was the buffalo sauce… the wings tasted like they were brined in pickle juice but not too much. The sauce tasted absolutely homemade it was something I was expecting to trash and I absolutely loved it. I would come back just for the wings they were a 11/10. My friend decided to order the district burger (pictured above) and it came with cheese sticks on it and he said it’s now his favorite place to get burgers. We were pleasantly surprised with this one, I think the only thing we would’ve changed is more seating which means more room in the restaraunt. It’s not anything that can be helped with the side of the building. We can’t wait to go back! Also the onion rings are large, crispy and...
