If you are super hungry and you have a chance to eat here at midnight, STAY HUNGRY. The a/c is set to snow and the music is at torture volume. I confess already! The sandwich w/ghost pepper was not edible by either of is and LOVE very hotly seasoned foods, very spicy. It hurt. The we see you sign at the door suggests that the staff is attentive. The woman with the snotty attitude brushed past me w/menus and offered no greeting. She basically left me standing in the middle of the floor and took the menus to the co-diner. I got up to ask her about gluten free items after being seated for about 10 minutes w/no other service. She was walking in my direction and made and awkward detour about 3 feet before she got to me, although it was obvious I was trying to get her attention. Server forgot to offer flatware and I had to go remind him after ai asked. Nope, it wasn’t terribly busy, but we immediately sensed the “we’re not happy to see you/you’re disturbing us” vibe. Creatively dressed sandwiches are small-plate style, reasonably priced. Beer prices are good, although the mason jar concept feels like you’re missing 1/3 of a regular serving. I wish there was more good to say. We couldn’t send back the sandwich, and the guy who served us seemed real nonchalant about saying so. Victory is physically and emotionally COLD. I cannot think of one person I know who would have had a...
Read moreThis was my favorite restaurant in Decatur, but no longer. This experience has left a terrible taste in my mouth. I decided to take two of my closest friends out to dinner as soon as we sat down, the waitress who greeted us was very offputting. When ordering drinks, the two of us who wanted drinks offered up our IDs and the one who wasn’t drinking, offered theirs up as well, but stated they did not want a drink. The waitress confiscated one of my friends IDs because it was an out of state ID and, I’m assuming, wasn’t educated about the format of the ID. All three ID’s were state issued by each respective states yet the out of state ID was treated lesser than even though fully legal. When the drinks arrived a sip was shared and this caused uproar among the staff. The manager was called out, confiscated all IDs and questioned my group of African American friends as if they were criminals. This could’ve all been resolved if the manager and her wait staff were properly educated on out of state ID terminology. I am disgusted with the treatment that was given to us.
The gag is most of the time they don’t...
Read moreThis place discriminates against the disabled, based on an interaction I witnessed involving someone who had a foot and ankle injury who was denied service because they placed a mobile order after asking staff if that was okay, so the person did not have to stand in line. It seemed like a reasonable ask. Despite the staff telling them it was okay to do so, they then refused to acknowledge the party and denied them service. They amended their policies on their online ordering afterwards (I checked from my own online order and it wasn’t there before the incident) to say you cannot eat a mobile order there. This was despite there being plenty of tables open and the person verifying with them that it was fine first. The people were visibly confused and trying to get the attention of the first person they spoke to. They then sent several staff members over to loudly embarrass the person and they left in tears. Actual tears. The whole incident was confusing and shameful. I reached out to their management about it because it was so shocking and never heard back. I would never...
