Terrible service! We have visited this chilis many times as it is one of the few actual restaurants we have here in Decatur. We have noticed the decline in quality and service. We came last night as well as 2 nights prior. The prior trip we had a waitress named Kim or Catherine. Short, older woman. Seemed very nice at first and brought our drinks in a decent time frame. The coke was very bad so we asked if they could change it and bring another which was even worse. Then a large family came in and we might as well have been invisible. She stayed with them and never came to check on our new drinks. We eventually asked a male waiter and he was kind and brought us root beer as it is in a bottle and we didn't have to worry about the fountain being bad. We were also brought our food by a whole different waitress and still our original waitress was only attending to the large group. Back and forth she went until finally about 20 mins after we finished our food, she comes WITH THE CHECK! Never even asked how food was or if we were interested in dessert. So I had her bring us a dessert and a different waitress brought that out. We finished and me being nice I left a 5 dollar tip which seemed like way too much. The second time around we go after the movies and were asked to wait outside. There was a gentleman smoking and we were down wind from it so we came back inside. The front host then brought us to a table that had broken chips from the previous guests and she assured us that they had just cleaned it. The table was soaked with a grimy wet feel and there was also straw wrappers on the table from the last guests. Then low and behold guess what waitress we get? Kim/Catherine AGAIN. We ordered drinks and then decided to go elsewhere. Only reason for 2 stars is for the cooks in the back that actual seem to do a good job and care about the...
Read moreI've been a repeat customer at this Chili's location in Decatur, typically ordering a house salad and soup. Unfortunately, I've had a recurring issue with the portion size of the to-go house salad. When I order it for pickup, the portion is significantly smaller than what a standard house salad should be, and the ramekin of dressing is placed inside the container, taking up valuable space and further reducing the amount of lettuce I receive.
I've learned to call ahead after placing my online order to specifically ask them to fill the container properly and keep the dressing on the side. Today, however, I couldn't call. When I arrived, I explained the situation to the employee, who seemed confused and passed the salad to a manager.
The manager was even more perplexed (and I’m being nice). He insisted that the small portion was the "normal size." I tried to explain that this isn't the case at other Chili's locations, where the to-go salads are properly portioned like when you sit down and order, but it seemed like my point wasn't getting across and offer to charge me more. I felt like there was a lack of understanding and customer service training. While a single salad may not seem like a significant purchase, I eat a salad every day for lunch, and over time, this adds up to a considerable amount. It's frustrating to consistently receive a subpar product and encounter a manager who can't grasp the issue (again I’m being nice).
A special shout-out to the evening staff, especially the one girl who always makes sure my order is correct and filled properly. It’s literally removing the ramekin and filling that space with three pieces of lettuce. She deserves praise for her customer service skills. The day manager, on the other hand, needs better training. I wasn’t asking for the world, I was asking for you to make it right and similar...
Read moreWe went to Chili's for lunch today in Decatur Texas. This was the worst service that I have had at this Chili's ever. I used to go to this Chili's every other week with my father but today the service was awful. There was a sign on the door it's a due to staffing shortage that they had cut their dining space, okay. We waited in the car for us to be texted that there was table for us. After we got the text we proceeded into the restaurant. After we got the text we proceeded into the restaurant, where is the seated all the way at the back and that section that was clearly empty we sat down and waited 10 minutes for a server to approach us. Finally the manager came over and said that the servers were busy and he would take her or drink order. We told him that we were ready to order completely so he took her order. I ordered a half lemonade half tea unsweet. What are drinks came to the table mine look like plain lemonade, I didn't blank was like he said they were busy. Then our food came, it was quite good. The manager kept hovering over near us I had not even consumed half of my food and he asked if we wanted to go boxes. We said yes two. He brought them and then immediately came and set the bill on our table. He then hovered close by again I told my friend I think he wants us to leave. So we paid the bill and left. After being being a little customer of this Chili's location I can honestly say I doubt I will...
