They have so many different cooks you never know really how your pizza will turn out. The buffet is a good idea, but not when it is in like a dictatorship. First off if choose to order the spaghetti, they legit give you one meatball. When you go for seconds they don't give you a meatball unless.you pay for it. Really? It's not a pizza bar, you have to go up and ask the staff each time you want another serving and you have to wait for the pizza because they don't crank out enough or on time for the buffet to start. On to lunch menu. Now I am savvy and I pay attention to prices. It is either a mistake on behalf on papa Gino's corporate, or an accident. Either way the concept of lunch menu is smaller prices, smaller plates. So can some please explain why most the items in the lunch menu are the same as regularly priced meals? For example the lunch menu offered the papa classic burger with fries for $7.99, glance over to the sandwich menu, it's the same price. Want a salad or spaghetti, well you are in luck with a savings of a whopping 30-70 cents. Also as far as I remember, lunch specials are supposed to be served in 5 minutes. We got 2 slices first after 5 minutes and waited an additional 10-15 minutes for the rest of the order. Not to mention, the last time I went here several weeks ago for take out from an online order, it wasn't ready after the 20 minute time frame upon my arrival. After standing around for about 10 minutes, one of the young manager kids, yea kid, said, "sorry ma'am, it'll be just a few more minutes the pizza got a hole ripped in the middle and we had to make another one. Could there have been something else you could have done to make me a happy customer. I love Papa Gino's, and the food. but the staff who rolls eyes at customers because they request their burger cut in half, or refuse to serve a meatball at a buffet, or offer some type of compensation for wasting your time since they are so busy goofing off like high school at recess. I have slowly rolled back my ordering from here, purely from the lack of competency, pricing and lack of...
Read moreI've been a fan of Papa Gino's food for as long as I can remember, which I won't put into a number of years to age myself :-) The Dedham location has always been our spot to get that Papa's pizza and pasta fix. Recently remodeled, the one thing that has never changed over the years has been my experiences with the wonderful staff.
What prompted this review after all these years? My family ordered and picked up two pizzas last week, perfectly cooked and delicious. Today I received an email from the GM (Sue W.) who had tracked down my email address online (after sending me a Facebook message I completely missed) to let me know they had found my 11yo daughter's jacket and purse last week and they were trying to track me down using my daughter's bike "license" which was in her wallet. We searched high and low for this jacket for the last week, sure it had magically disappeared. Not only was the coat returned, along with her purse and wallet, but also her $50 emergency cash in it, all there, just as she had forgotten it! To me, this speaks volumes about how this restaurant operates and the integrity of the people working there.
Thank you for offering a prime example of kindness and honesty; I used it as a teachable moment for my children to remind them that despite what it may seem like out there, good people are still doing good...
Read moreI’ve ordered from this location multiple times. Recently I’ve received my food either burnt or completely wrong. I personally drive all the way to this papa Gino’s m because the other papa Gino locations around my house are not good at all . I love cheesy breadsticks but I don’t love when my cheese is completely cooked off. This has now happened almost 4 times within a two month time span. This is absolutely ridiculous now that I have to see my food before I pay. Yes I could simply have my order fixed, but this has now happened one to many times for my liking. I already waited 20+ minutes for my food to be made, now I have to wait an additional 20 minutes? I would completely understand if the location was busy what I was getting my food but at the times I order, I see more employees leaning around than actually working. I work in customer service and I personally know that if this is happening when I’m entering the location, it is definitely happening when other paying customers are going here. I hope the corporate which is located RIGHT UPSTAIRS could fix this issue. If not, I will definitely stop going to this...
