This is my fifth time coming to JB's on the Beach but its the first time I experienced horrible service here. We arrived there an hour and some change before closing time. We got seated right away but waited a while before the server came to greet us or take our order. As soon as the server Rebecca approaches the table we requested an order of a dozen oysters before we even made a drink order. Mind you it's a Thursday night and not a busy night. It takes her awhile to bring out our drinks but we didn't complain. Then it takes her an additional 20 minutes to place the food order. We still don't complain. We received our meals and we still didn't receive our order of oysters that we ordered when we first arrived there. We mentioned to the food runner that our oysters never came out and then eventually he brung them out. When our server came around we talked to her about the inconvenience of our appetizer showing up after our entree and that they should be complimentary for the inconvenience of time waited (at this point its been almost an hour we have been in the restaurant). She made the executive decision of saying we don't do that we could take them away and not charge you for them but we will not be comping them because of the inconvenience without even talking to a manager about the situation. She took the oysters away before the "manager" showed up. When the "manager" showed up he proceeded to side with Rebecca and made excuses for his staff and why the situation probably happened and not accommodate for his staff's lack of service and attentiveness. The entrees were also subpar to what we have had in the past. We ordered two whole snappers that were dry and flavorless. The branzino had 5 pieces of zucchini and filled with peppers and had no tzatziki sauce, the paella and curry seemed to be just okay. The waitress avoided us until we were done with our meals and then asked us how our food was which is not the way you treat paying customers, especially when 3 of the 5 people had never been to your restaurant before. It was embarrassing to bring out of town guests to this restaurant and ruined...

JB's on the Beach is a waterfront restaurant in Deerfield Beach, Florida that offers stunning ocean views, a spectacular menu, and excellent service. The restaurant is located on the Intracoastal Waterway, and it has a large outdoor patio that is perfect for dining al fresco. The interior of the restaurant is also beautiful, with high ceilings, large windows, and a cozy fireplace.
The menu at JB's on the Beach features a wide variety of seafood dishes, as well as steak, chicken, and pasta. I started my meal with the Dynamite Scallops, which were bay scallops on the half shell, baked with a signature Asian-style crab crust, finished with cilantro-infused oil and scallions. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the crab crust was flavorful and crispy.
For my main course, I had the Seafood Paella, which is shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams, calamari, and chorizo simmered with garlic, peppers, onion, and tomatoes, served over saffron-infused orzo and rice. The paella was absolutely delicious, and the seafood was cooked perfectly. The rice was also cooked perfectly, and it was infused with the flavors of the seafood and the saffron.
For dessert, I had the Ultimate Chocolate Layer Cake, which is a chocolate cake with chocolate cream cheese icing, chocolate ganache, and white and milk chocolate pearls. The cake was rich and decadent, and the chocolate cream cheese icing was the perfect complement.
Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience at JB's on the Beach. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special occasion dining experience.

Read moreSaturday afternoon, my family and I went to JB's for lunch. Since the weather forecast was beautiful we decided to dine beachside and surpringly it was not busy. We were promptly sat down at our table and did not receive silverware even though we ordered appetizers. I had to request that silverware be brought out for my family of four, and then were only given two sets, even though there were four of us. I then had to request for another two sets of silverware 🤔. When the coconut shrimp appetizer came out, they were pipping hot and not greasy. (8/10) The guava-rita was also a good drink choice but could've been a tad bit stronger . (9/10) The ginger kiss lacked ginger and was very lemony. (4/10) Now, the main dishes that we ordered were the ribs with fries, a crabcake sandwich with old bay fries, and two kid mac n cheese.
Their ribs were ok. Nothing reallyyyyy stood out about them except the fact they were tough and lacked flavor. (4/10) The crabcake sandwich was lackluster/ flavorless, and the taste was very fishy. (5/10) Then came the kids' mac and cheese that was soupy and bland.(4/10) I had to send my sons plate back due to him not enjoying his meal.
Critique:
The coconut shrimp: The shrimp were large and paired well with the dipping sauce. There was also a fair amount of shrimp provided with the appetizer as well.
The Ribs : They should be cooked more in order to ensure their tenderness. There should also be a side of BBQ sauce provided. Additional sides for the ribs should include baked beans n potato salad.
The Crabcake burger: The size of the sandwich for the price point was good. I also liked that the sandwich was evenly proportioned and came on a toasty brioche bun.
The Mac: The portion size of the Mac was good, and I also liked that it was homemade and not boxed. The cheese sauce needs more body as it is too soupy.
The overall rating for this dining experience is...
