šŸ“ A Ya So Nice Authentic Jamaican Food • 165 S Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19720 Just pulled up to try the real deal—oxtail falling off the bone, jerk chicken packed with flavor, and everything in between. This is Jamaican food at its finest, and it deserves all the love. On top of that, the owner and chef (a brother-and-sister duo) were incredibly friendly, the customer service was amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious. You can dine in or take it to go—either way, you’re going to leave satisfied. If you’re looking for more places to eat and things to do in Delaware, make sure to follow me for more hidden gems!

I originally went to try the coconut balls and dumplings however they only had two dumplings and were out of the balls. I landed on the oxtails and jerk chicken platters. The jerk chicken was delicious as you can taste the charcoal from the grill, the rice and peas are actually rice and beans and they were good as well. The plantains were good and they ran out of white rice. The oxtails were expensive of course however not worth it due to the amount of fat verses meat. They also weren't seasoned enough for me however they were eatable. Not something I would purchase again especially in this economy every dollar has to be worth spending. The jerk chicken was worth purchasing more so I went back to get only chicken and was told it was still going to be $17 without sides. So I went ahead and got more rice and plantains. Did not like the feeling of being forced to purchase food I did not desire to have. That may be the only part besides them not having what I want that will have me try somewhere else. An item should not cost the same without the extra food that usually comes with it.

Aya So Nice is the real deal. I’ve been here twice, and it’s officially my go-to spot whenever I’m in New Castle County for business. The flavors instantly take me back to my days growing up in Brooklyn, New York, authentic, bold, and made with love. I’ve had both the jerk chicken and the oxtails, and each time, the food has been spot on. Tender, seasoned perfectly, and served with that signature Jamaican hospitality. What really makes this place special is the vibe. I’ve brought my laptop and gotten work done while enjoying a quiet atmosphere with lively music in the background, just enough to keep the energy up and the spirits lifted. If you’re ever in the area, don’t miss out on Aya So Nice. Food, culture, and comfort, all in one plate.

Saw this place while driving by one day and from the outside it looked welcoming and somewhere I could sit and have a meal so I thought Id check it out after reading the reviews.

It was a bit "rougher" on the inside than I recalled during my drive by and although there was counter top for sitting and eating, it wasnt really somewhere Id want to sit for a meal.

The workers were very friendly and helpful.

I had the BBQ chicken and Pumpkin rice with steamed veggie (the curried chicken and goat were at the tail end so I didnt order those although they were my 1st preference). The chicken is not the typical BBQ chicken (smothered in BBQ Sauce) but was more of a fry chicken brushed with BBQ sauce. The meal was very tasty. Chicken tender and not overcooked (despite being breast) and the pumpkin rice reminded me of my childhood. The steamed veggies (as opposed to cole slaw) was the perfect accompaniment. I ordered the small but the portion was large leaving me very satiated.

I also ordered manish water which I had for lunch a few days later and it was delish.

Id definately go back for this...

I was meeting a friend, from Jamaica, for an early lunch. Arriving before her, I decided to go in. The inside was filled with the smell of the cooking food. Very appetizing. I was pleasantly greeted by an employee, and directed to the counter to place my order. Once the staff knew I would be waiting to order until my friend arrived, I was offered a complimentary cup of chicken soup. I accepted. After the soup arrived I was brought fresh bread like ball, (I now know is a dumpling). Both were enjoyed. I had never had Jamaican food before, and asked my friend for guidance. I landed on curry chicken with rice and beans and plantains. I now know I really like Jamaican food! My friend said everything was very good, and up to her standards. (A high compliment, indeed) Clean and well organized, interior, flavorful and fragrant, food, attentive and courteous staff made the experience memorable. A few upgrades in the dining area would not be out of order. However, it appears to be a mainly takeout establishment. So, not a big deal. All in all, a very pleasant experience. I will definitely be...
