King Garden Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Chadds Ford Township

I usually don't review restaurants, however this was so bad that I had to.

This was the worst Chinese food I think I've ever eaten.

I ordered the orange chicken, barbecue rib tips, and fried rice. Total bill was $25 and some change. I ordered online after reading prior reviews.

First, on the barbecue rib tips they used barbecue sauce that tasted very much like store brought Heinz and slathered so much on the foul tasting "pork", hoping to disguise the fact that it was good old American barbecue sauce mixed with "a little something" Chinese.

The orange chicken was not chicken at all. It was a breaded stringy whatever mess that you couldn't chew, so I pretty much ate one or two or tried to eat one or two and had to throw the entire meal out.

The only thing that was decent enough to eat was the rice.

And yes, the young lady working behind the counter was very rude. She was very very rude. However I did notice that she treated the Caucasian person with dignity and respect.

BAD: Nothing really, it's take out/ delivery with a table so no atmosphere ( no problem) and that I have to drive 1.5 hours from MD - worth it (I happened to be in DE, all good).

King Garden Wilmington is a noble and revered Chinese take out place going back to my lawschool days over 20 years ago - no lie. They make the same great food I used to get me through tough exams. Their plump fried dumplings are second to none and their cold sesame noodles are amazing. In the past I ordered the fried chicken combos and they were great.

First off, second hand Chinese if you can imagine it. I know I'm not expecting a perfect meal, but it was mediocre at best, my college Chinese place put this to shame in terms of speed and taste. SECOND, I picked up my meal after ordering online, and paid with cash and a few hours later someone called asking when I was going to pick up the food(?)! I said I already did, and the voice said "No, you didn't, NEXT TIME, make sure you CALL THE RIGHT PLACE." and then hung up on me??? He called only a little while before I posted this.
