TLDR: Bob's discount furniture is a shady business with horrific customer service and delivery systems. Stay away.
Ordered a couch on 11/2 in the Wilmington (Brandywine) store. The saleswoman, Denise, was nice and helpful on the floor. The manager did add on the 5 year protection plan (hundreds of additional dollars) to our payment after I explicitly denied it multiple times. Denise then did try to charge us for it knowing that I had said no to it- again- multiple times. If I had not been paying attention to the original quoted cost without it, they would have snuck that on. Be wary of what you pay for here. Note exactly what you are paying for in the end, as you cannot trust that they will be honest. I called and scheduled delivery (on 11/4) for 11/10. No issues, I was told to expect the delivery window call in a few days. When I didn't get the 2 day/ day before call about the delivery window on 11/9, I called. The first rep stated that the "system deleted" our delivery for 11/10. Escalated to the first supervisor, who stated she would put in a request for it to be 11/10 and I would hear back in about an hour. She offered to "at least partially refund" my delivery once the furniture had been delivered- but not before then. Mind you, that will not be enough for all of this. Two hours later, I got a text from Trish who stated that 11/15 would be the first availability. NOTE that at this time we have ZERO living room furniture, as we had our previous couch taken out to clean the carpets in preparation. I texted Trish telling her I needed confirmation that was the absolute earliest- noting this was due to their fault. She NEVER replied. I took it upon myself to call Bob's again a few minutes later, assuming that she had stopped replying (I'm glad I did since I was correct). The now second rep laughed as she spoke with me about my case. She laughed as she told me she was escalating to a supervisor. I can't fathom what part of this was funny. The now second supervisor I spoke with told me that the earliest delivery was 11/15 and nothing else could be done. I expressed my extreme frustration at this point, and he eventually conceded that he could ask for delivery on Saturday 11/11 but that it would not be guaranteed. He said I would get a text or email if it could happen, but otherwise needed to schedule out. My husband has lost time at work over this, and will have to again. We have had to cancel events in our home over this. It was in no way our fault that this happened, but Bob's made sure that all the issues fell right on our shoulders. I can't express my anger more. We have shopped at Bob's before, with minimal problems. THIS? I will never shop here again. I opted to use my Bob's credit card as a loyal customer. The second I pay it off, that card will be canceled and shredded. We will never shop here again. I advise you to stay away from Bob's Discount Furniture. The people in store are shady, customer service is abysmal, and their...
Read moreI always enjoy going to Bob’s, however this particular time I was a little surprised at what basically happened from the time I came into the store. I stepped off the elevator to a beautiful sectional that caught my eye so I looked at it for a few minutes and noticed it was a power recliner with the chase lounge that also apparently reclined further. I was intrigued! So I looked at the price, figuring this was going to be way out of our price range, and I was shocked when I saw the tag and had to do a double take because I couldn’t believe the price was so reasonable for such a beautiful power sectional as they are usually quite pricey. Anyway, I hurried over to the real reason I came to Bob’s, which was for a Bob’s Mattress. Now on my way over, an associate did greet me with a hello but he just kept on moving, so I proceeded to look at all the mattresses I thought I was interested in and still not one associate approached me to ask if I needed any help or if I was being helped by anyone. So I was basically wandering around and a recliner caught my eye, so I went over and sat in it and it was a power recliner, wow my lucky day for power stuff. Anyway, I fell in love with it, but I had to wait for my husband to get there because it would be for him. After about 5 minutes of sitting there playing around with the recliner, I proceeded to get up and go find someone and wouldn’t you know it an associate was walking right towards me and finally asked if anyone was helping me and I said NO I was just getting up to go find someone. I asked how much the chair was and it was a really great price, but that wasn’t why I was there, so we proceeded over to the mattresses and I chose the one I wanted, along with everything that went with it. My husband came in and I asked if he wanted the chair and he said no, so we proceeded with the sale of the bed and all. The one thing I didn’t like when he wrote us up, was he kept pushing for delivery, and said if we didn’t take delivery we could lose it because there’s only a few left and it’s first come first serve, which I don’t know what that has to do with anything I’m paying for my mattress today and everything that goes with it so the bed is coming to me whether it’s delivered to the store or my home it shouldn’t matter. One of those 5 left now belongs to me because I’m paying for it that day so it’s been ordered for me and will be shipped to this store. Why would they give that to someone else? I shouldn’t have to pay for shipping if I want to save some money and pick the items up myself. An associate shouldn’t say to a customer false statements just so they can make more money from the sale because it’s not professional behavior or is it a very good reputation for Bob’s. You should never knowingly deceive people it’s just wrong! Our trip to Bob’s wasn’t as pleasant as our last, but I still love going there and I’ll more than likely continue. They do have nice furniture at decent...
Read moreWhen pulling up my daughter who we were in need of getting a bed frame and desk for looks to me and says “i have a good feeling about this place. Her feeling could not have been more spot on. The manager greeted us, very friendly not pushy at all. Pointed us in the direction of bedroom furniture. After making a couple jokes with my daughter. We were given ample time to look found exactly what we wanted at a great price. Justin the salesman found us just after we found what we wanted. I advised him I’d like to go home with something. When they didn’t have it right on the floor he got that piece for me from the outlet. At a much lower price mind you! Brandon then began helping us while in the outlet side. I was so pleased with my entire interaction with Justin and Brandon I inquired about getting the desk as well. He found me the perfect one but not in the color we originally wanted. We ended up liking the color in stock better but he continued to inquire about the first color we requested and found it. Brandon handled all of our paperwork (e-signing) and made both me and my daughter so comfortable. Honestly working with these two salesman felt like catching up with old friends. They worked to get me what I wanted at a price where I could afford to walk out with both in the same day. I pulled my truck up the two men came out to load me up and as if this experience couldn’t get better. They were both equally as nice and agreed to stay 10 mins past shift to get me home with those items same day. I was so touched by how wonderful they made my experience, I had to go back in and thank them both personally. Brandon wished my daughter well in her adventures they discussed while making the sale. He gave her genuine personal attention. Justin equally as wonderful sent us out with treats from the Bob’s cafe. I will never go anywhere else again for any furniture needs. These men are the best of the best. My experience will continue to be shared and...
