I have ordered from Brandywine (Wilmington, DE) Target curbside pickup for over a year now and have had issues with over half of my orders (which I place frequently.)
If this began at the time of COVID-19, I would 100% understand. However, this is not the case.
In over half of my orders, I was missing items. At this point, I’m unable to get out of the car to check my order (which isn’t my responsibility anyway) due to crowded parking lots and people not wearing masks. I have severe asthma and am considered high risk for infection. I shouldn’t have to put my life on the line to get what I paid for.
Recently, I ordered a storage bin which came out without a lid. The employee said she would be back with it. After waiting 30 minutes, I had to talk to another employee and found out that the first person I dealt with left for the day and didn’t relay the information. While the second employee did attempt to help, she had to go into the store twice (20+ minute wait for both times) and came back saying they didn’t have it. I was told I had to go in to the store to get refunded and I’m unable to do so due to health risks.
The very next order I placed was missing FOUR items. Everything was jammed into a large target bag (too heavy to carry anyway) and I had to claw it open. I only noticed one item missing because I didn’t have time to go through item by item. When I called the store, I was not able to reach guest services and was eventually told by someone in electronics (only department that I could reach someone) that I would have to come in for the item because I wouldn’t be able to reach guest services at all.
First of all, this is not an isolated incident and it is not acceptable when I have a 30 minute drive (one way) and there’s a solid chance that the item will be sold out and I’ll have to wait in an extremely long line just to find that out. Besides the fact that I put my own and my family’s lives in danger while we are trying to quarantine to save our own and others health and safety.
Although target will EVENTUALLY refund you, that doesn’t excuse the fact that this is happening. I ordered those items because I NEED them. The refund isn’t processed for several days. Now is not the time to be waiting for money with myself laid off and my husband’s hours cut. Now, I have to wait 3-5 business days to buy my dog food because of this. Sadly, we don’t have any money to be able to do that at the moment.
After hours of waiting on hold for the store and the corporate office (on multiple occasions), I was told that their only solution is to provide feedback to the store.
Anybody that knows about business knows that this is not a solution that will work anytime soon. It also does nothing to help my personal situation. Target refuses to do anything to rectify and most at the corporate office were rude and unapologetic. Not to mention that I was disconnected and/or hung up on multiple times, furthering my time taken to remedy this.
This is absolutely appalling and unacceptable but they won’t do a thing about it. They truly feel that it is reasonable for me to risk my life to fix a problem on their end. Meanwhile, this company makes billions of dollars.
It’s sad that this is the way that Target conducts business in general but particularly...
Read moreTarget stores are almost always up to quality standards and this Target is most definitely included in that list. Everytime I visit to shop or just to look around the employees are kind, helpful, empathetic, and not once have I felt like an annoyance or irritation.
On one occasion I had to visit Target 10 minutes before closing time (which is extremely rude to do and not something I prefer to do) since it was an "emergency item". I got to self checkout just 3 minutes shy of closing time. I completed my purchase and offered a very sincere apology for visiting the store so close to their closing time. The employee running self checkout was SO kind to me in return! She didn't make me feel guilty, but just the opposite! I will try to never visit near closing time again and I don't suggest anybody do this - but I was welcomed, respected, and treated with kindness.
The Target store is always literally immaculate. You can tell they put a lot of heart into keeping things stocked, inventory accurate, and sometimes they even had items listed out of stock which was great! Anytime you saw things askew like a few shirts unfolded, you could tell that it must have recently happened and that someone would attend to it FAST.
Like most Target stores there can be some long lines during peak hours. That said, it is not uncommon to ANY of the big box type of stores. It just is that way and any customer should come to expect a little wait when a huge influx of customers rush in.
I did notice that when there were wait times to checkout that they would ALWAYS open and announce loudly that another checkout lane was available and open.
During times when there was barely any customers checking out, I would be waved down by an open cashier who would happily welcome me to their checkout station.
I don't know what Target does differently than Walmart, but the people that work in this Target are GOOD and KIND people. They've always gone above and beyond to assist me, and have always been friendly and personable. I literally have yet to come into contact with any employee that is irritated with having to "deal with me". I tend to be an extrovert who treats strangers with kindness and respect, and it's always a treat to come to this Target and always know I'll get the same treatment back.
Oh and I should at least mention the bathrooms! When I've had to use the restrooms they are always in IMPECCABLE shape! It's always nice to go into a men's bathroom and find a nice and clean place, and I've always had this experience here.
If you're considering coming to a Target store among several in the general area? I would absolutely 1000% recommend this Target be the...
Read moreToday was prob the first time I had a bad experience. I’ve shopped at this location many times and never had an issue. Today I went in looking to do a price adjustment for a weighted blanket. I purchased it for $49 on Nov 20 and bought another on the 27th for $28.50. I went to do the adjustment when I was greeted by a woman who started the conversation letting me know “we don’t do price adjustments on Black Friday.” I let her know that it was not Black Friday pricing because the 27th was a Wednesday. She called over a woman named Shaun with glasses- I’m assuming she’s a manager. She stood in front of me and was having a conversation with other people- when she finally paid attention, I explained the story. She also said she couldn’t do price adjustments with Target purchases online- they were different than Target stores and the entity online were her “competitors.” She said I had to go back online and do the price adjustments there and tried to send me away. I told her no and that Target is Target, whether it’s online or in store, it’s one and the same. Then she said if you have the barcode we can return it and buy it back for the $28.50 so we did and that was the end of that. Now.. my question is, why didn’t she just do this in the first place? Why did she attempt to send me away to take care of things online and why did she say that Target Online is a direct competitor? I know it’s busy and it’s Black Friday but trying to send people away is not the way to do business. Not good. I’ll be open to having any conversations with Shaun and her Direct Manager any time this week. Contact me and I’ll make it a priority to...
