This is my go-to for soups and the occasional sushi lunch. When family is in town, we always bring them here. The staff are attentive and kind (and love kids!). The food is hot and fresh, even when I just phone in an order to-go. I've moved offices and I still try and get over at least once a month. Their wonton soup is the only one I will order now - the broth is rich and flavorful without being too fatty. The wontons are light and springy - never tough or too salty - it's my favorite soup to get me back on my feet if I'm not feeling well (sorry, Mom). The pricing can be a little higher if you're normally into corner Chinese take-out joints. That is NOT what this place is - it's fusion restaurant that happens to have a great handle on both in-house dining and takeaway orders. If you want to know more about this great place - just ask! I spoke with Lin, who gave me a great deal of insight on the chefs' culinary style (Southern China, if you know your cuisine). The sushi guys are real artists, and you're in for an experience, no matter what you order. Bottom line: food is fresh, delicious and innovative (as well as having premium versions of the classics). The staff is exceptional, and the location is clean and convenient. High marks on all accounts - keep up the good work,...
Read moreMy wife, daughter and I had dinner here on Friday, January 31, 2025. I had Vegetable Tempura Roll and Yaki Udon, my wife had the Walnut Chicken and daughter the Pad Thai with Basil. First off, a note to the itamae (sushi preparer): my sushi roll pieces were cut entirely too big, each piece was very thick especially for its width. I have a big mouth but not that big 😏 I did manage the first 2 pieces whole but ended up cutting the last pieces into halves with my fork. Not a big deal, and it did have a good flavor. My Yaki Udon was pretty good, I have never had it before so I have nothing to compare it to. I did bring home the leftovers. My wife’s Walnut Chicken was barely edible, the chicken seemed tough, she ate maybe a quarter of her (deep fried or baked ?) breaded chicken (seemed more bread than chicken). Though the side of broccoli was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very good. My daughter’s dish was good. In the end we were somewhat dismayed because my wife told the server about her disappointment and that was it, not even a partial refund for her dish. I too am in the restaurant biz and have been taught to always make it right for the customer. Unfortunately there is no star...
Read moreGreat service is the first thing I'd like to mention, our waitress went so far as to help me teach my girlfriend how to hold her chopsticks. The second thing I noticed was the impressive list of Japan specific spirits. Not simply a minor selection of sake like most places, shochu and Japanese whiskies were both available, with an eclectic variety of flavored and non-flavored options. Sushi pricing is generally on the slightly higher middle end, but this is usually what I expect for decent sushi, and wow was the sushi phenomenal, no overpowering mishmashes of flavor, no excessive application of sauces drowning out the more delicate flavors of the fish, and a good proportion of rice to fish along with the other ingredients. It felt good to eat sushi that wasn't slathered in sauce and allowed the ingredients to do the talking, I see a few reviews here complaining that some of the sushi was lacklustre, but from my experience at even higher end sushi restaurants this is how it's meant to be done, some people have palettes too focused on overt, excessive flavors.
I would love to come here again. One of the better sushi experiences I have had in...
