This is one of my rare google reviews since google became a search engine. Some were good & some were as below. I do not embellish or lie no matter what the topic. I can only remember writing 3 reviews. I used Duffy's web-site to order, as this restaurant is much to dirty to eat in you will smell the dirty mop water if you ever have a reason to go inside. I have eaten there twice for the collage football season only to join friends. I have waited in the marked parked area many times to pick up my take-out orders, however they rarely care to recognize your automobile in the take-out spaces. So I park and wait 5+ minuets, then just walk in. My food is always sitting there getting cold. Tonight was different. The staff member my wife placed the order with I do not have her name as the receipt #855 is torn but she was handling take out orders from at least 6.14pm to 8.30 pm. Oct:7th 2023 MY wife clearly denoted that she needed condiment's ! Napkins, ketchup, mustered ,plastic fork and knife. Really you should NOT even have to ask for this basic items for 2 cheese burgers & fries order. Bottom line my wife & I went to the beach for a little picnic. well there were no condiments in the bag that we had asked for. My wife could not eat any of her meal. The fries were soggy and she was not able to eat her burger without ketchup, & mustard I ate my burger after taking the horribly rotten lettuce, tomato and onion off the bun & decarded the mashed potato's Here is the rub. My wife drove back to the restaurant. handed the same lady that took the order and our money and brought the order outside for once. Was handed back HER meal not eaten and explained in a Christian manner her dissatisfaction. The server was perplexed? She did not say anything. My wife turned and walked out of the establishment. THEN THIS SERVER in A LOUD AND SARCASTIC TONE SAID and i quote HAVE A NICE EVENING. As a person born in Fort Lauderdale in 1961 and grew up in Palm Beach County. Read moreI wanted to share my experience at Duffy’s in Delray this afternoon, which also happened to be my first time visiting this establishment since moving to Southeast, Florida this year. Everything was going great my first hour in and sitting at the bar to watch my football team. There were two lovely people sitting on each side of me (unrelated and unknown to me) including a sweet and wonderful 83 year old gentleman regular who had a couple glasses of wine over a several hour period. By the time this man finished his last drink, one of the bartenders, “Erin” (picture included) provided him the bill and then pressured him incessantly (shortly after supplying it) to close it out.
I asked Erin WHY the pressure and rush since she was able to run the card (under her server name) and then any colleague could add the final extra tip/close out the check (mind you, she interrupted him several times while we were speaking about closing out his check)… and she got VERY flustered, rude, snapped back at me, and was overall incredibly unprofessional and tried to give me a fake reason of why the need to close him out (I have worked within the service/food and bev before and I’ve never had an issue with getting credit as long as I rang the bill under my name). And ironically enough, after the older gentleman left and paid the bill, she was still working for another 20-30 minutes. So, she could have not pressured the customer to pay it quickly since it was clear she wasn’t leaving anytime soon. I still can’t believe how she snapped back at me too. Every server besides Erin was helpful and professional in my experience there today. But as an owner or manager, I would be greatly concerned of how she is pressuring customers (especially the elder community). I don’t think this woman should be working within a service industry… bad day or not, you don’t treat nice (and senior) customers this way. I’ll likely try this place/location one more time given the other positive attributes, but I will be very wary of Erin and steer...
Read moreBad lunchtime experiences at Duffy's lately...Server takes way too long to bring soft drinks upon ordering. Server takes way too long to come back and take food order. Order to table time is okay. Server takes way too long to come back to ask for dessert order and/or bring the check. Three of us went for lunch - arrived about 12:30 on a Monday. Plenty of tables open so they weren't SUPER busy. During our visit at least an hour in the restaurant (too long for lunch ordered from their lunch menu), 3 separate times we noticed there was not one employee on the floor or behind the bar. 3 SEPARATE TIMES which lasted at least 3-4 minutes each time. Where did everyone go?? Even the hostess (who clearly hates her job was missing for so long, that 2 parties of 2 ended up leaving before they were seated). When she seated our group, I asked if she could look into my MVP account, because my friend was receiving all kinds of texts on her phone from Duffy's for the past couple of weeks and I wasn't receiving any at all. The hostess said she would look into it and immediately walked away. But she didn't ask for my name, my phone number or anything - just simply walked away. We were seated where she would have to see us each time she left the hostess stand to disappear, yet she never came back to the table to ask for my MVP info. Ok. No big deal - not worried about the points because after this next complaint, I will never ever ever go back to Duffy's again. After my meal, I visited the Ladies restroom. Lighting was extremely dark, and the air simply reeked of urine. I looked all around the room and didn't see any wetness anywhere, so that means it was dried urine and that the bathroom had not been properly cleaned. Rembering the old adage, "if the bathroom is gross, then it's farily a guarantee that the kitchen is no better or probably even worse" convinced me to take my business elsewhere. My group has given them 4 chances in the past month or so and each visit is quite disappointing....
