3/8 Update: I am just now realizing I left this review at the wrong location! This was meant for the Grand Ledge location down the road. So sorry!
Not super impressed with my experience today 01/19/24. Ordered through the drive thru and the guy working sounded monotone and borderline rude when giving the total cost of the order. Got up to the window to pay and the man hands me the two floats I ordered. I gave him my debit card to pay. A min or two later he hands a plastic bag of food to me and says have a nice day. I waited for a moment waiting for him to give me back my card. He came back to the window where I informed him I didn't get my card back. He immediately started checking his pockets which in itself is weird because customer cards should not go into pockets. He begins looking in the cash drawer and says he doesn't have it. I said Well, the receipt is in the bag and normally you hand back the card with the receipt but that didn't happen. He checks his pockets again and said with an unpleasant tone "I don't know mam; we don't have your card". To not hold up the line I pull into the parking lot ripping my car apart looking for it. I start digging through the food bag and he put the debit card in the bag with the food! He did not hand it back to me just thre it in the bag with the food and then acted like I was the crazy one for not having the card... Anyways 1. Hand the card back to the customer with the receipt, don't put it in the food bag. 2. Don't a check your pockets for customer cards when asked. Cards should not be going into employee pockets. That was weird. 3. Try to sound even a little customer service oriented in the drive thru. 4. Side-note: The speaker in the drive thru is extremely hard to hear. I'll still eat here but please be mindful. And customers-...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing place, I originally thought it was a simple fast food chain with excellent food but once I found out they serve breakfast and went inside one morning, I discovered that they were much more than that; they were the love child of an actual restaurant and a fast food chain that works very well. It is by far my and my girlfriends favorite place to go when we are feeling like something quick. The staff makes it even better with the fast, positive attitude. In my opinion their best option has to be their Bacon Double Cheeseburger, I swear by it and could eat it every day. They make their food fresh so it's always hot and the fries are always crispy with delicious juicy patties. One item I do have an issue with, which is chain specific and not a gripe with this particular establishment is the chicken sandwiches are literally just 2 chicken strips on a bun that you have to fight to keep together, making ordering one something I don't recommend to anyone. Beyond that, if they ever introduce real chicken sandwiches I'm positive they would be delicious like everything else on their menu and I recommend this place to anything who is interested in good food that is borderline restaurant quality at acceptable and...
Read moreI usually let small things go, but my experience at this A&W was so off-putting I felt it needed to be shared.
I was the only person in the drive-thru—not a rush, not a line, just me trying to give this place a chance. I asked a couple of basic questions about the menu, like the difference between two burgers, and was met with silence at first. When I repeated myself, the response was weird and came with clear attitude, like I was a nuisance just for asking.
When I tried to customize the burger—again, nothing wild—her tone got even worse. Dismissive, annoyed, and just unnecessarily rude. I decided to cancel my order and leave, because at that point I didn’t feel comfortable trusting someone with that kind of energy to handle my food.
As I pulled off, a man who seemed to be the manager actually gave me a sarcastic “Bye!” and a wave, like he was mocking me for leaving. Just bizarre behavior all around.
Again, I was the only car in the drive-thru, and still couldn’t get decent service. Fast food is tough work—I get that—but there’s no excuse for that kind of unprofessional attitude, especially when a customer is being polite. I left without a meal and without a single reason to...
