Usually this is my go-to for sushi. I tend to go here once a month with a friend or family. Iāve always had great customer service and food. Today I decided to go out with my sister, and ordered some raw fish. I spent about 40- 50 dollars on one of the deluxe combos. I did have a thought that there could be a worm, however I decided to just wing it. When I was given the dish I had two things of shrimp and salmon nigiri, but when I was about to eat the raw tuna roll, I noticed it had a worm in it. So instinctively told the waiter, that there was a worm. when I did he told me ā well you should expect thatā. So, I thought you know, I shouldāve expected that, since itās literally raw. They offered me ice cream at first, but I obviously lost my appetite after that, so I asked if I could get a discount instead. They did, but it was only 10%. I felt bad so I ended up tipping, and tried to be as nice as possible. I definitely donāt think Iāll ever have sushi again after this experience. At first I did end up asking a few people if I shouldāve let that slide, and they all told me that it was very wrong. So...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHands down the best sushi restaurant in Michigan. It's a little hard to find, tucked away in the corner of a strip mall west side of lansing near the Target. Friendly owners and staff, clean and cozy environment. Price is to be expected for good quality sushi, on par with other popular Japanese restaurants(nigris are actually cheaper for certain menus). They prep everything themselves down to the sauce, nothing in their menu is pre-made or frozen in bulk. Best quality of sushi rice in town(Contrary to popular beliefs quality of rice is the most important factor when it comes to judging taste of sushi. Top sushi restaurants around the world have their recipe for sushi rice kept in secret passed down through generations), and you won't be able to experience sushi better than here at least in greater Lansing area. Also they just started serving ramen, be sure to check those...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAttentive wait staff, short wait for food, good tasting water, delicious plum wine (i already forgot the brand of it, dang it) Food fresh, nice thick cuts of sashimi, I prefer less messy, less smothered in crunchy bits on my sushi rolls with crunchy bits, it was a bit overwhelming in the realm of crunchy. No big deal, everyplace is a little different and I will try a different roll next time. The quality of the food was fresh and tasty. Literally hands down the BEST fried Gyoza i've had anywhere. Tips for the waiter- Ask if there's anything else we'd like before bringing us the check. He just straight brought us the bill assuming we were done. My fiance wanted to order sake and felt bad it caused the waiter to have to adjust the bill, and afterwards we were bummed cause we didn't realize they had mochi ice cream, it would have been an easy...
