I wanted to love the brunch here. We really enjoyed dinner a few weeks ago. So having heard that there was a Sunday breakfast brunch, we were all in. Let me start with... the brunch is, after tax about $25.00 a person. We added a couple of mimosa's and my wife had a second cocktail, (the fellowship) all of which were good. Our server let us know it was her first brunch service, however she did a fine job. She took many of our plates with just a couple bites of underwhelming dishes, and she probably should have asked how things were, but she was busy and new. I do wish a manager would have been circulating to the tables to check on things. But he seemed to stay on the sidelines.
They let you order eggs separate, as either scrambled or in an omelet. We both got loaded scrambled, and they were cooked well, and came out fast. They have a great hot sauce selection with some Michigan made sauces. All good.
The buffet on the other hand. First and foremost I was disappointed with a lack of signage to let you know what was what. Sure, mashed potatoes are obvious, but was the eggroll, chicken, veggie etc. They had deep fried chicken strips, that were very dry and overcooked. And no dipping sauces to make up for it. They had some asian shrimp dish, but I could not tell you what was in it, or what it was called. The ham was decent, but I would have loved to know what the sauce was before I took it.
The sausage links were Gordon food quality, and the bacon...oh that poor bacon, was nearly raw! There was a man making waffles, but was not very engaging with the patrons. However the waffles were fresh, and had a good selection of toppings. There was pizza, but honestly, it looked very unappetizing to the point I could not bring myself to try it.
There was a small salad bar area that was adequate. Lots of fresh fruits, and a ton of desert foods... cakes and pies and the like. If I had to guess, none of it was homemade. The small piece of cake I tried was still frozen in the middle...so I assume they are all purchased.
All in all, we spent, after tip $97.00 for 3 drinks, and 2 buffets. To me, at this price, there should be just better overall everything. A $100 breakfast for 2, should be homemade everything. There should be someone working the buffet to help customers. There should be signage to let you know what everything is. All in all, this was a one and done for breakfast for us. We most likely will come back for dinner. But we would be hard pressed to drop another Ben Franklin for breakfast for 2.
For reference, we did dinner, 2 drinks each, and split app, and 2 entrees last time, and after 20% tip we paid less then we did for...

My daughter & I stopped by One North on Saturday evening for dinner & requested to be seated in the outdoor dinning area. We were seated & eagerly awaiting our server because it was a humid 90° & we were parched. After waiting for 20 minutes and no waitress/waiter ever coming to our table; I was able to stop someone in a One North shirt to inquire if the table we had been seated at has a server. She explained to me she was a cook and didn't know, but she would find out for me. Another 5 minutes pass & I'm beyond irritated and annoyed. Therefore making the decision to leave. As we gathered our things to leave the restaurant a man comes out with 2 waters & menus. I told him, thank you but we're leaving. As we were walking through the restaurant to get to the parking lot I saw a woman who appeared to be a manager. She confirmed that she indeed is. I explained to her the terrible experience we had just had & that we were leaving. The manager (Miranda) offered her apologies, said that she would make sure it would be handled & asked that we please stay so that they could rectify our initial bad experience. She doubled down by stating that she would personally serve us and make sure that everything was taken care of. She did not disappoint!! Not only was Miranda extremely attentive and making sure that our experience was top-notch moving forward. But Mike the restaurant manager also came out to offer his sincere apologies and take accountability for the situation that happened. Expressing that this is not typical of their establishment & when accidents like this happen they definitely want to make certain that they take responsibility & rectify the issues. Needless to say our experience went from terrible to TERRIFIC! Hats off to One North for being an upstanding restaurant with INTEGRITY! You are...
Read moreTerrible service. Yesterday was my 3rd attempt at this place. My first visit, about a year ago was met with decent, not good or great service. However, the food was good. My second visit, last Friday night at 10:30pm found slow service from our waitress who was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. She seemed extremely busy at times and rarely checked on on us. Again, the food was good but the service was lacking. I gave them the benefit of doubt due to what I'll say was short staffing. My 3rd visit which was the Wednesday after my second visit was extremely disappointing. We visited around 7pm, there was more staff than patrons in the building, but the service was absolutely horrendous. We were promptly seated and that was it. After 20 minutes of fumbling around the menu we realized not only had we not been served anything to drink, we didn't know who was our server. In the meantime, a couple came in and was seated directly behind us. They were immediately offered drinks. Their server never acknowledged our presence or even looked at us. All the while, there was at least 4 employees in or around the front desk area which was no less than 15 feet away from us. At that point we decided to get up and leave. As we were leaving, one of the employees said "I'm sorry, were you not waited on?" I politely said no as we were headed to the door. The hostess then said, sarcastically, "You folks have a wonderful rest of the day". This place has terrible service and no system in place to ensure good service. We went down the road to another establishment and were met with great service from the time we walked in the door until we left. We even got a visit from their service manager. One North could use some sort of system, but there will be no 4th...
