Little Red Schoolhouse — Local services in Delta Charter Township

BEWARE OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT! I went into this store and was FOLLOWED AROUND! I greeted the workers and went down the first aisle. Half a second later a worker was down the same aisle. I didn't think anything of it, until I noticed her follow me down 3 aisles. I would turn back to look at her. She would put her glasses on top of her head and pretend to look at prices. Or touch whatever was around. A white woman and a man were shopping but nobody followed them around. After about 15 minutes of being followed down EVERY SINGLE AISLE, I finally said something. I told her I wasn't going to steal and I had money to buy whatever I wanted from the store. She tried to gaslight me and said "Maybe you're following me around" I simply said why would I follow you around, you work here? She stormed off, as she was storming off I asked to talk to the manager, she said she was the manager. At that moment I was shocked at the behavior and decided I was done shopping. I went to the front counter before leaving to tell the workers I did not appreciate being followed. Another worker also tried to gaslight me and said the same thing the manager just said, she laughed and said "Maybe you were following her around" I did not find it funny. Then a worker said if you're not stealing why are you carrying 2 bags. Then she said people usually ask them to put their bags behind the counter. I said why would I do that? My bag is not heavy. I explained to them that one bag was my purse, the other bag was because I ride the bus and i put things I buy in there. I proceeded to show them contents in that bag, INCLUDING RECEIPTS. THEN a worker said well people that ride the bus come in here stealing. then the manager asked why I thought they were following me around. I said maybe because I'm black because you didnt follow the white woman and white guy around. The manager then started screaming at me saying her granddaughter is half black. I did file a complaint, but the staff ADMITTED TO FOLLOWING ME AROUND! saying they followed me around because I had two bags. Sad they automatically assume someone is stealing because they have 2 bags. or because they ride the bus they must be stealing.. I ALWAYS carry 2 bags and I have never been followed around. This lady followed me like a hawk. DO. NOT. SHOP. HERE. Unless you don't mind being gaslit and followed around. I also went online in a group sharing my experience to my surprise over 15 people came forward saying they too were followed around the store by the manager and the workers and they WALKED OUT!! BEWARE AND DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR HARD...

Apparently I came at a bad time seem to be lunch cuz I open the door I got hello welcome couldn't find where the voice came from until further entering the store and there was a table with people eating. The blind woman side if you need any help just let me know I asked you work here she says yes I said I have some items I want to get appraised or sell and she said okay. She spoke to a woman across from her I don't know what she said she stood up didn't greet me said nothing didn't even acknowledge me and just went to the cart and started going through myself and I said and you are, I said do you work here she says yeah rudely. Unfortunately I didn't sell them anything she did offer me $5 for refrigerator dish LOL but I had a guess that came with me and is he browsed through the stories that everything was overpriced and really wasn't an antique store is some of the items were newer than antique. I will not be back because of the unfriendliness of one...

This is a very large antique store, and they have a lot of antiques now. They rent out booths so pricing is all over the place, but for the most part I thought pricing was pretty good. I found something there I've been looking for for a long long time.

Now with that said, there were also what I would call crafts in there, which were beautiful personally. I think that's okay. I just think that should be advertised a little more cuz that would bring more people in.

One of the things we noticed is to be classified as an antique. It must be 20 years old and they had quite a bit of stuff that was not still okay with that.

But one of the things I was not okay with is they are selling stuff that you can purchase at Dollar Tree, for $1.25, for 10 bucks and it was listed in a bunch of toys. Granted it's a stuffed rabbit but is not a toy. It's a decoration. I'm not sure what's inside it and what happens if somebody buys it...
