I eat at a lot of places like this and Ipot has some good pros that really help it and some glaring cons that make
Pros- They have a sushi bar that you can go up to at any time to eat while you wait for your food to cook or heat up. Like many of the other establishments of their kind they have additional premade food for you to snack on while you wait, such as chicken wings, egg rolls, Rangoons etc. This is nice to tide you over while you wait for you meats to cook or your hot pot to cool down. The server that waited on me was very attentive and kept my drink full the whole time.
Cons- The selection of soup noodles was much more limited than other places I've had which is a huge let down. The Hot Pot bowls are quite a bit smaller than other places of this type, which to some might be good or bad, for me it felt like everything I would normally get would barely fit in the bowl. Bulgogi beef is one of my favorite offerings at places like this and there was something really off about the flavor of this version of it.
Overall I think that its refreshing to see other places doing things like this and I hope that Ipot can get some more variety than the current menu offerings to spice up...
Read moreIt was an absolute delight from start to finish. As someone who’s always on the lookout for fresh, interactive dining experiences near me, this place exceeded my expectations. Our waitress was the highlight of the evening – incredibly helpful and informative, walking us through the self-serve buffet setup and how to best cook our ingredients on the grill and in the broth. She had such a sweet, welcoming personality that made the whole group feel right at home. Her tips on pairing sauces and broths really elevated the meal. The food? Outstanding. Everything was super fresh – from the crisp vegetables and thinly sliced meats at the buffet to the sushi rolls that hit just the right balance of flavors. We went for a mix of spicy Szechuan broth and milder options, and the Korean BBQ grilled up perfectly at our table. Portions are generous (as you’d expect from an AYCE spot), and nothing felt overcooked or stale. It’s clear they’re focusing on quality ingredients, and it shows in every bite. If you’re in the Lansing area and craving something fun and flavorful, IPot is a must-try. Can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend for groups or...
Read moreThe price is reasonable and better than other places in Lansing and East Lansing, honestly! You get BOTH hotpot and bbq, as well as specialty sushi rolls, buffet style all you can eat, and you're not rushed out!! I went with 2 of my friends and had a great time. The food was amazing and all fresh. I liked how a lot of the meats for the bbq were marinated already. The hotpot was delicious too 😋!! I got the tom yum broth and filled mine up with all of the fresh veggies and seafood options available to choose from from the buffet. I tried lotus root for the first time. It was good!! The sauces section had a lot of variety. I would only suggest maybe adding a ponzu sauce or something acidic besides just the lemons. The desserts were delicious as well. I left STUFFED!! I almost had to be rolled out the front door. Everything looks brand new and most importantly, CLEAN! Customer service...
