First time ordering from Wayback Burger, I've wanted to for a couple of years now. I signed up for Mr. Delivery so I can't comment on in restaurant service but I can on two other points. First, the menu is small, the menu items are too expensive when compared to the amount of food you get. Ordered a chili-cheese dog for a friend of mine, picture shows it as a "foot long" it's BIG, the price was almost $5 for one so I thought I was getting a good deal. WRONG! We got the hotdog and it was a child size hotdog. Now, if I had received french fries or another side maybe, MAYBE I would have accepted that but for a hotdog so small the price was outrageous. I ran into the same with the O-Rings (FF and Onion rings basket) pic looks much larger portions for the amount I paid, I get the order it has 3 OR and hardly any fries. Ugh! Not good. Second, MR. DELIVERY was awesome! Love their entire process but the way the food was packaged was not professional nor "protected" from contamination etc. It came in a brown bag with handles and the food was OUT, nothing had lids, no food was placed into containers, the food was exposed. Yuk! As a business owner I would that if you are going to participate in allowing patrons to order out then package the food to keep it from let's say: Falling out of the bag while the driver is en route, people touching the food, eating the food, (you never know) and keeping the food as fresh and hot as possible, during transport it got cold. I do NOT get how a business owner could not, would not think of that. Needless to say, the TASTE of the food was out 1-5 with one being the worst and five the best, was a two. Lastly, the side cups... on an order it asked if I wanted chili, I thought it would be a cup or a bowl of chili, nope I got a small side of chili, I mean TINY. I guess I SHOULD have paid attention to the cost, maybe that would told me the quantity. With all of that said, there chicken fingers are delicious, real meat and seem breaded??? (That should been explained on the menu) Needless to say, I won't be re-ordering from Wayback Burger, I won't go to their store and dine in or take out, I paid a pretty high price for that food that was so small in portions in correlation to the cost that I truly ruined my whole...
Read moreHad a coupon for buy one burger, drink and appetizer and get another burger free. The burgers were delicious. My buddy made a comment after his first bite. He said "These are really good aren't they." I responded with a "yes, they are." Place was clean. Table could have used a wipe down. Met with the owner. Seem very nice and personable. He made us aware that on Wednesdays for the rest of the month they will continue having buy one burger, drink and appetizer get another burger free. A double Wayback burger, medium drink and fries are about $18. A bit high in price for a single meal. Will be back on Wednesdays if the current promotion remains. Burgers are much better than the competition but non-promotional pricing is out of hand. Also I find it really strange to be asked for a tip at the register at a pick up and take out restaurant, and being asked for a tip even before being serviced and tasting your meal.
Tips are meant to be given for exceptional service not for minimum expectations. The TIP acronym means "To insure promptness"
I feel that fast food restaurants that prompt for a tip at the register has been changed by the social norm. Tipping is deeply ingrained by some businesses and is often seen as a social expectation, creating a sense of duty or obligation, and potentially guilt or embarrassment if not followed.
I will not leave a tip if not seated and served and I am a little embarrassed when asked for minimum expectations to be executed. I would rather not do business with these establishments to avoid the guilt and...
