It had been about 10 years since I ate in a Braums. I had moved about 10 years ago to the Midwest and they don't have them there. Me expectations were high. I had eaten at Braums a lot, as I grew up in Oklahoma and Texas. As I entered, it was like I stepped back to 1987. Still looked pretty much the same. Same old cream /tan booths. Instead of painted walls, it had gigantic pictures of food. For those who don't know, Braums has a small grocery area, mostly dairy and healthy stuff like fruit. They now have a frozen section which has meats and microwave meals.. The grocery area here was not clean. Boxes from inventory were left out. A spill happened. Someone left the paper towels on the floor on the spill. The food counter area was clean. I placed my order. The young man was very nice and polite, I couldn't hear him because he was wearing his mask due to the COVID situation. The older lady whom could have been his boss, was a little rude. I had explained I hadn't ate at braums in a while, so she told the young man when he came up, " he is thinking or something, maybe he will order when he is done". Then I stated it would be for dine in when they asked, then she stated, " so I have to clean more chairs and tables". The prices were affordable. I got the #2, biscuits and gravy, small hash brown. And a medium soda/pop. My order was ready before I finished paying. You get to fill your drink your self and refills are free. I found my booth. It was clean. However, the booth across from me had food all over the floor. I was in the restaurant for about 35 minutes and no one came and cleaned it. It was a Sunday morning, so the restaurant had only about 10 customers, most of them older. As I ate my meal and listened to the elevator music playing I felt relaxed. The food was prepared properly and was warm. With biscuits and gravy you either nail it, or you don't. They nailed it. Not to runny, not chunky, not to much pepper. The hashbrown perfect. The soda had a good mix and tasted good. Wish I was sticking around for lunch to try out some lunch....
Read moreJust now, 9:45 PM Monday evening the 26th. I asked a young man who had only worked here for a few days about what kind of ice cream is made for certain single dip Sundays and a woman, whom I finally found out whose name is “Cat”, interrupted and proceeded to be very rude about using vanilla ice cream only and after short conversation what was led to believe that I as a customer had no idea whatsoever what I was talking about when I’d ordered a specific Sunday on a regular basis not using vanilla, ever, because I don’t eat vanilla, and I’m sure that I have been a customer here far longer than she’s ever even worked at the store because she’s never been seen by me before ever. After other conversation she ensued with me in an argument with raised voices and how I was very welcome to leave and not be their customer and she could care less and blah blah blah, refused to give me her name, after I decided to come back into the store and ask for it and she was not even the manager. The manager was having a little powwow very quickly with the employees, and did let me know what her name was but now in the excitement I have forgotten although I remember what she looks like and it started with an M. If this person Cat was my employee, she would be fired immediately for her behavior as if she owned the store and in front of her manager with such disrespect. No wonder there is such a huge turn around with these employees thinking they “run the show”. This is my local store that I love and I frequent often. This person may be having a bad day and I will pray for her but she needs to learn how to treat customers that are putting money in her pocket and that she does not...
Read moreAfter ordering my food at 8:50p on a Tuesday night, it took so long to finally get up to pay, the assistant manager didn't even know which order was mine. Maybe because he was hanging out just talking instead of running his store. It took me almost 10 more minutes to get to the food window, where I waited another 10 min before someone handed me my waffle cone and asked me to pull up because somehow my food was still not ready. I pulled up waited patiently for another 10 min, finished my ice cream and still no food. Walked inside and asked where my food was and it was sitting on the counter. So I asked the assistant mgr if it could be made fresh since I wasn't sure how long it had been sitting there. He skipped the apology and very curtly told me I was welcome to check the food if I wanted. When I asked why I was having to wait so long for food when 5 cars had already went around me with their order outside? He waved his hand around and stated well as you can see not enough help. There was by my count 5 to 6 cook's and a couple cashiers, and it was not busy inside. I told him he didn't have to get an attitude when it was his ship that was shipwrecked. He promptly questioned why I said he had an attitude. Walked out only to realize I was never given a drink. Whoever this manager is needs retrained or fired because his coworkers were showing way more urgency than he was. This the Braum's on 75 in Denison, owners it is not...
