Picante Taco — Restaurant in Denison

We've been coming to Picante for a while now and try to make it at least once a month. The owners used to work at another establishment on the East side of town. One day they disappeared along with all the Great service they used to extend to me. It may have been a year later that we decided to try this place and low and behold there were the people that we had grown fond of in the past. They were now owners!

We mainly come to play the "Claw Machine" so I can win rubber duckies for my wife's growing duck army.. Seriously but kidding.. kinda. We order take out and usually it's the "Fajitas Patron" for two people and add some extra tortillas. While we are waiting for our delicious food I play the claw machine.

It's a lot of food, chicken, beef, chorizo, carnitas and shrimp, stewed onions and peppers, rice and beans, pico, guac and sour cream, chips and salsa. Easily a couple days worth of chow if eaten in moderation.

I have a deal with the wife. She gets all the shrimp if I get all the carnitas. It works, we split the rest and were happy. Our lil dog gets goodies as well. I've been to a few places around this area and no one does carnitas quite the same.. Picante does them the way I like them. They are very good, imo.

The service is always Great and if you come enough.. you are remembered. Portions are always pretty large and the place is clean. Prices are in line with what they should be.

Easy to get to from the 75. Good parking. Worth...

I will just say that the owner of this restaurant is very friendly. But his wife gave me a very unpleasant time. The wife is a waitress, and one day I asked for a salad dressing instead (when placing the order) for which she told me to say no, that the one I wanted was more expensive than the one on the plate. and that she could not be giving those benefits to any client. because there were many customers who took advantage, and they could not have losses in their restaurant.

I had a client who went there many times. I never stopped giving generous tips to my waiters, but I never came back after that, I found that experience very unpleasant.

I even told her that she should be more grateful to God because her restaurant was very popular and they had a lot of clientele. and she wasn't even able to apologize.

The food was ok lack flavor however I was grateful to eat ya know! The service was not good at all I walked indecisive on if i wanted to dine in or not I was going to dine in as I asked the The server what was good rhe obnoxious man who was at the door taking orders rudely csme over and took over the conversation and pointed at the lunch menu and stated this is less expensive I did ask about price I asked what was her favorite because this was my first time patronizing this establishment which I will.never go back! Customer service will take up.for lack of flavor with food but to not have eithe is not good! The hostess was super amazing and patient you could tell that she's use to his behavior! I'm a new resident to Dension and I have scratched this place off my list permanently!
