Cute place. It wasn't busy at all when we went. Surprisingly, because it was a Thursday evening. The only downside was that they were out of Prime Rib. They told me the gentleman across the way ordered the last one. 😠 😆 No big deal, we found something else on the menu to order. The menu warned us that it depends on availability, so we weren't totally shocked when we were told it was sold out. My husband ordered the lobster and enjoyed it. It was pre-sliced, which he said was a game changer. The Scallops says it has Ritz crackers crushed on top but it looked more like stuffing?? But I'm not a food critic. It just didn't look like Ritz crackers. No biggie, still delicious. The coleslaw was yummy and I'm picky with coleslaw.
The food was good, and the presentation was great. They had choices for kids and even chocolate milk. The waitress Marelyn was super nice! The woman who greeted us at the door was nice and asked my son about his stuffed animal. Everyone seemed friendly.
My mother said another time she went, she sat at the booth in the corner and the only downside was that the table was too far away from the seats that it made it hard to eat. Luckily, we didn't have that problem this time. But that's an easy fix. The bathroom was clean. We didn't wait extremely long, but the food didn't come out super fast either, which is a good thing, meaning they took their time with it.
We spent maybe $150 on 3 adults, 1 child. We ordered lobster, steak, Scallops, kids tenders and 1 alcoholic beverage. So I'd say the price was expected. Especially for the quality.
We'd definitely go back. Cute photo op...
Read moreI cannot remember ever leaving a one star review. We were a group of 4 diners who dine out twice a week. I was reluctant to dine here due to two previous experiences but went with the flow. It's a new year, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. It was Friday night at 7pm, the place was nearly empty when most places, like the Oyster House Next door, are packed. Took forever to get our food. 2 meals of 12oz "beef tips" that were maybe closer to 6oz. If that much. One over cooked. Two with cold vegetables. 2 meals of baked swordfish that had so much sauce that one was sent back only to return like it had been scraped of sauce and bathed in the deep fryer, far too dry to eat. They both also had cold vegetables. I had a Titos and soda that lacked the Titos. We asked for a manager. A very tall gentleman who came to the table, we asked if he was the manager. He said "kind of". We voiced our disappointment and all he said was "I'm very sorry" before walking away. Our bill, for 4, came to over $180. We...
Read moreFirst time at The Next Door and was real happy to call last minute for a quick reservation for 7 . Was recommended by the Oyster Company ( that is located right next door) where we originally were headed but could not be seated because of the long wait. We were coming from Chatham and tried several stops and they all had over hour wait on a Sunday night. Had three kids in the party. The waiter (Raymond) was great and let us know we were seated just in time for $1.50 oysters which was good because other places do not count until your order is taken. Chicken tenders for children were fresh breaded chicken NOT frozen, mac n cheese that my daughter got was so good the whole table was having a taste. Home made NOT kraft or any garbage. Everyone else's dish looked appetizing and tasted real good. Reasonably priced too. I had the boiled 2lb lobster and that was cooked perfect. Hoping to come again in the future. Please stay consistent...
