Cheba Hut "Toasted" Subs — Restaurant in Denton

We visited for the first time today and I became immediately obsessed! It was a clean, pleasant atmosphere. The incredibly patient fella behind the register was great! Friendly, effective, efficient. He answered my questions and was super patient while I tried to absorb everything! The menu is awesome because it's not too much but it's also SO MUCH?! ya know? (Heart eyes!!!) Tons of sandwiches! My husband got their roast beef and horseradish sammy called KGB and it was great! The flavors were good and married well. It wasn't an overload of a bunch of stuff that didn't go. It was simple and well done! The pickles were super yummy! The not-chos! THE NOT-CHOS FRANCINE!!! They are so good and I cannot wait to try them with chicken next time! I was worried the Doritos would be stale or soggy but absolutely not! Cheba Hut putting them in the oven somehow made the Doritos EVEN BETTER!? How?! Idk. But the ranch on them was out of this world! This ranch is on the left hand side of the / if you know what I mean. Lol. My husband really enjoyed the garlic cheese bread. The marinara sauce evaporated rather quickly, it seemed. Lol. My comfort food is French onion soup. But I'm stuck up about it. I decided to take a chance and order it when I saw it on their "munchies" menu boy am I glad that I did!!!! The most delicious! Flavorful! Rich yet lighter! Luscious onion soup. I will be back for that by the dang gallon next Christmas. Ok I will stop rambling but please go try it! My husband and I came here during the day for a lunch date about a month ago. I keep forgetting to post a review, but we really love this place!!

The people that work here are so nice! The guy that took our order at the register was super friendly and patient with us as first timers. The bartender was lovely - it was her first day behind the bar and the guy from the register was training her - we had a couple of shots that were good. They gave us free stickers, rolling papers, and a coupon for zebrahead. Even the cook that brought our food was nice!

The music was great and I was able to pick up a few new songs for my Spotify - bartender told us it was the cook's Spotify list that was playing (wish I would've gotten his account to follow for more music recommendations, but figured that would be creepy so I didn't ask lol).

I am vegetarian, so I got the Power Plant. My husband is not vegetarian. I told him the White Widow was a fan favorite from reviews, and he said he was definitely not having that. He hemmed and hawed over the AK-47 and the 5-0 for a while trying to decide, but then ended up ordering the White Widow and he loved it lol.

Anyway, ambiance of the place was great, very relaxed and easy going. Good food, kind people - 100/10 experience and couldn't recommend it enough. Next time we're in Denton we'll definitely be having Cheba Hut. ❤️

The sandwiches are very good here and well worth the higher price. Each sandwich comes packed with ingredients, I had 2 full length pickle spears in mine, and are seasoned very well. Cheba's "Cheba Shake" proprietary spice blend seasoning honestly tastes great and adds a lot to each sandwich. While my sandwich dripped a bit, it definitely wasn't a soggy mess like some stuffed sandwiches tend to become.

Cheba Hut goes all in on the themeing, which if you're 420 friendly may be amusing, but is not much of an attraction to someone who isn't into that lifestyle. But it is everywhere. Looking past the themeing the restaurant is set up nicely. Dark floors and walls with pops of color make the inside feel, small but cozy. There is a bar located inside the restaurant, along with a neat covered outdoor area with some seating, tvs and corn hole. I'm sure the night crowd is pretty fun.

Having been only a couple times I can't say for certain how the service is. But the few times I went have been split between workers who didn't seem to want to be there and very friendly cashiers. Not the worst service but sometimes it can be a...
