This place has been around for a very long time, the student's of The University of North Texas and Texas Women's University NEED this place. Years ago, it was one of my husband's and mine favorite places to go. We've been married going on 35 years and of course dated all through college. My brother and several friends from his high school came here. ALL 3 of our children have gone here, one of my sons is now married and the happy couple are still going there. It is a wonderful family place, a place for kids to gather, to study, to relax, for groups and take out. It is just a fantastic place with fabulous food and great prices. Which is what a college town like Denton WITH 2 MAJOR UNIVERSITIES NEEDS!! This place just CAN'T BE TORN DOWN. PLEASE HELP SAVE THIS PLACE, IT HAS HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE TO DENTON AND TO ALL THOSE WHO GO TO UNT AND TWU!!! DON'T LET THEM TEAR THIS WONDERFUL HISTORIC PLACE DOWN!!!! PLEASE HELP!

I am a huge fan of sub sandwiches and have previously owned a family sub sandwich shop. New York Sub Hub is owner operated every day and it makes a huge difference. The quality of meat products is high. Their offerings for toppings is more than an average chain. The biggest and most important thing to me is the bread. They have a very nice soft roll that they serve their sandwiches on and it is better than any chain offers. Their fountain soda machine offers “sonic” style ice which is always great and the New York themed decor is fun. Don’t waste your time at a chain. Go here first! Pictured is their All Stops sandwich. It is my standard order. It is consistent and never disappoints.

This place is not what I consider a chain restaurant - it is unique. Great staff, efficient service and the venue is decked out in street/subway signs and New York related newspaper articles. Plenty to look at and discuss. The location also has a side area that is tucked away, quiet and less traffic. The parking is real tight in the front, there is parking in the back. Careful, some of the sandwich bread has hard crust spots, like taping on a Turtle Shell, which made part of the sandwich uncomfortable to eat. The sandwiches were still outstanding.

I honestly don't see how this place is 5 star. So much mildew/mold in the ice i threw up after taking a drink. The fact that management/ownership let's the ice machine get that bad, makes me wonder what other levels of unsatisfactory sanitation are going on in this place. It's just simply not possible for them to not know there's a problem, yet they do nothing about it. I'll never be back. Anyone who is knowingly poisoning it's customers needs to be held accountable and Denton needs to step in and close the place. Absolutely disgusting

*Haha look at the owners response. Nothing but denials, this is the reason this place sucks. Why would I tell you in person your ice machine is full of mold? It's not my job. The best way to grow or fail a company is through community outreach. Why would I tell you there's mold in your ice? Not my job. Technically that's your job. My job is to warn the next person, and prevent more people eating at an establishment with at bare minimum a completely unsafe drinking station. If the ice is that bad it's only the tip of the Iceberg. Oh and why do I have to meet you in person to tell you your ice is moldy. I already told you and you denied it. So meeting in person would be pointless. Hints the review. ...

I have been going here since I started at UNT a few years ago. Never EVER been dissapointed by their in person service. The ice is perfectly crunchy (sonic ice style) and their sandwiches are absolutely to die for. I get the ham and cheese and it's delightful. I have lots of exceptions and whatnot, but the employees always make me feel comfortable asking for them and never mess it up.

I will say, one time I ordered a sub on doordash and that was probably one of the worst doordash experiences of my life. Not deducting stars cause the food was right, just not toasted, barely any toppings, and the sandwich was soggy from sitting forever. Some people seem to have had similar experiences with that so maybe that's a thing? Could've also been an off day though you never know.

100% reccomend stopping by if you plan on trying something new, I'd highly reccomend. I've taken orders to-go for myself and they make it perfect that way too, just skip the...
