First time, our waiter was very kind & it was a good time. Chips & salsa are yum. We tried 6 tacos w different meats: our favorite was the carne asada (which he recommended as his fav too), the pastor was solid (very good), the chicken was shredded & juicy, the barbacoa was actually one of my favs & I usually don't choose barbacoa, the chicharrón had good flavor & the texture was decent, & the carnitas = juicy. I really liked that they were not only topped with onions & cilantro, but also fresh lettuce & tomatoes! Both the red & green sauce had good spice & flavor, they had more of a watery consistency, but we used them on each taco. We arrived at 6 on a Saturday evening so not real busy. Good reviews and a weathered, faded sign got us in. Our waiter was wonderful and we are watching now how he tends to his patrons. I suspect they are regulars. The food was delicious. Minimum of three tacos in an order. These in picture are tacos barbaccoa. Cooked perfectly with the right amount of cilantro. Today I went to 2 different locations to get good mexican authentic food. The 1st place was packed, the 2nd one the menu they offered was not appetizing. Until my mother said, how about La Mexicana. Here we are at La Mexicana and man once I got my hands on one of their seafood cocktails. It was out of this world. Loved it!!!!
