Not really the type to leave a review, but tonight left me in a sour mood. Ordered online, paid $30 for three kids bean and cheese tacos, order of queso and chips, a fajita burrito, and a chicken taco. Arrived 2 minutes early and did not receive my food until 30 minutes later. Was told by the cashier to take a buzzer and that it would alert me when my food was ready. I asked her if I had to come in or would they bring the food out to my car?#Covid She said they will not bring the food out to my car, I'll have to come back in to get it. After about 20 minutes I came in to check on my food as I had kids waiting for me in the car and no buzzing had accured. During this time I watched 3 Door Dash drivers pick up orders and leave. After a bit of confusion my food was brought out to me in the lobby. I asked why it took so long and I was informed the buzzer does not work if you are out in the parking lot, I was parked in the "online order/pick up parking. Slightly upset about the miscommunication I asked the cashier what they were willing to do to make up for the fact I waited a half hour to receive my order. She grabbed another employee who explained to me the situation. I was told my order was ready but I did not resoond to the buzzer, to which I reiterated no one told me the buzzer would not work from my car and I expressed the fact I would be waiting in my car because I had my kids with me. He asked me if I wanted a refund and I said, what are you offering? To which he replied, "I can give a order of queso or a $5 gift card." Although I wasn't looking for a full refund or anything, this low ball reciprocation just made me feel worse. I said no thanks and just went to my car. After going through my order and realizing all of it was cold I walked back in to speak to a manager, I'm no Karen, or I guess the male version is a Kyle, but I found a manager and expressed to him what happened, he was polite, explained to me what happened as I explained to him what happened on my end, he did offer some gift cards which at that time I did not feel the need to accept, I just wanted my frustrations heard. After getting home and eating my four tacos and queso with my kids and my one burrito for $30 after an hour and a half after ordering them, I feel like I probably won't go back. I really liked this place when it first opened but now it just doesn't seems not...
Read moreWent to Torchy's Tacos for the first time on Tuesday of last week (01/24) to meet with a friend I met through work. I have heard of Torchy's Tacos (and I think I had them delivered to my house when COVID first hit), but I have never been inside nor did I know what to expect. My friend was apparently a big fan, and I agreed to meet with him for lunch.
I ordered the Trailer Park Tacos, as they were my friend's favorite. I am so glad I did! The food arrived at my table only about 30 seconds after I ordered, and everything tasted wonderful. The chips and queso is quite addictive - most Tex-Mex restaurants do not have such thick, tasty queso. Yummy! I almost ordered a second round of chips and queso, but I held back since I am lactose intolerant and had a workout session planned later that day. The short woman with dark brown mid-length hair (I suspect she was a manager) checked in on us frequently and had a super polite, upbeat attitude. A taller man with dark hair and a stubble (he also had the demeanor of a manager) approached our table to pick up our plates and enthusiastically agreed to take our picture, which was really nice! Overall, the food, atmosphere, and customer service was great.
The only negative thing is that the restaurant sounds noisy from most seating areas during their busiest hours EXCEPT for the booths. As a person with moderate-severe hearing loss, I felt comfortable sitting in the booth and could hear my friend with minimal issues. When I walked around the restaurant to get my drink and ordered at the front, I had difficulty hearing other...
Read moreTonight I came in and sat at the bar to order some to go food. I sat at the bar for about 5 minutes before the blonde bartender even said hello to me. I ordered three tacos to go and waited about 25 minutes before they came out. Then, as my credit card laid in front of me and I waited to get rung up, the blonde stood and chatted with another employee behind the bar. She was very intent on finishing her story before she helped anyone else out. I sat there and stared at her for at least 5 minutes while she chatted before the other employee finally made eye contact with me and saw my frustration, then he grabbed my card and handed it to her to ring up but she was STILL intent on finishing her story so much that it took another 4 minutes just to ring me up because she kept walking away from the register to stress certain parts of her story to her associate. She has absolutely no business being behind that bar. Terrible customer service honey. Learn to earn your money or find something else to do! I didn't expect to sit there for 45 minutes for a to go order of 3 tacos. You didn't even say hello or goodbye to me. You are extremely lucky that I am a nice guy and gave you a tip. Next time I won't if this continues. Oh, and I asked for flour tortillas, not corn. Get your head...
