On Saturday, I witnessed disturbing behavior by the security staff at this club. Instead of managing the situation, they escalated it and focused on recording the chaos. They failed to de-escalate a fight and instead threatened to assault customers, throwing phones and watches around recklessly.
One troubling incident involved a female security guard, who was a heavyset Latina. She aggressively took a customer’s phone and threw it away because he was recording her. I saw him filming her after she was provoking and mocking the scene. Given that the security staff were making things worse rather than providing any protection, it makes sense why someone would want to document their behavior. I felt it was necessary to start recording as well.
Instead of trying to resolve the situation, the security staff showed no empathy. They continued to record and mock the situation, adding to the chaos. Later, this female guard was joined by a man with a tattoo on his face and another black female guard. Their combined behavior only worsened the situation and made us feel even less secure.
What I saw was shocking. I was so concerned for the other customers that I felt I had to check on them after the incident. We have pictures and video footage showing the staff’s unacceptable behavior. If management wants to see the videos of their staff’s conduct, please let me know, and I can show them to you and the police if needed. I hope management takes this seriously and doesn’t just make excuses. The club needs to revamp its security team and hire professionals who handle situations properly. I felt very unsafe and wouldn’t recommend this place. Safety should be a top priority, and it’s clear this club is failing in...
Read moreI have been to blue ice many times. This past Friday I went with my boyfriend who happens to be African American. We entered the establishment just fine(screened by security)About an hour later my boyfriend was the only man asked to take his hat off.I questioned the security guard about this specifically, because I had seen him with another guy that also had a hat on who appeared to be his friend .And he did not have to take his hat off. He said that he got previous authorization from the manager because he had just “gotten a surgery on his head”.Therefore he was allowed to wear a hat.I proceeded to point out a number of other men who also still had their hats on. This definitely ruined our night. My boyfriend felt discriminated and singled out. Mind you he couldn’t really advocate for himself because he only speaks English. We decided to leave immediately after. It felt like a gut punch because I took him there to share my music and culture with him.And instead he got to experience an embarrassing display of racism within the Latin community.Im extremely saddened and disappointed in this establishment. (Also the bartender had...
Read moreThis place is beautiful inside. Very inviting. It also lacks alot of ethnic culture to make it into the bar club it is or advertised as. So went on a Friday. The music was interesting. I loved the mix but sometimes they play like 10 plus songs in a couple of minutes making it extremely confusing. The drinks were way over priced for a bartender that didn't know how to mix it right. Both times. The security a bit handsy when doing checks. There are proper ways to put your hands when checking. Grabbing tapping on waist sides ect is inappropriate. Finally something was released in the air that we inhaled causing us to cough and ultimately leaving after only being there an hour. Actually everyone was leaving after this because we all couldnt stop coughing. paying 20 cover isnt worth it i think or there 12 dollars a drink. maybe I came on a bad night i dont know. But there are tremendous red flags. I dont know if I'd...
