Nov 11 Update: The birthday dinner was Oct 24 and my review was written Oct 25. Bonefish made their "reply" Oct 26 and I responded to them the same day - Oct 26 - using their "Contact Us" form. Today is more than two weeks after their reply request with NO RESPONSE from them. So, with Bonefish ignoring reality, I guess their "reply" was intended to make others more comfortable with their reservations, food and service. But just to let you all know, they were just blowing some up your butt and mine. They pretend to be helpful - they pretend to have service - but it is just pretending - not real life. End Update.
Made reservations at 6:00 pm for my wife's birthday dinner. Got there 5 minutes early (5:55 pm) and was told to stand outside in the cold for at least 15 - 20 minutes or take seating in the tent. I guess they don't know how to do reservations.
So they sat the four of us at a table in the tent without the paper lining, napkins or silverware. Was it clean? Was it disinfected? We don't know. Plus we had to wear coats.
The food is pricey - not cheap. Some was very tasty and some was very bland. My pork chop was overcooked and they served lobster without butter. Half of the steak and lobster dinner was consumed before the butter was delivered.
They reach over the table to serve rather than take an extra step to serve correctly. They use many different servers which could increase the risk of disease transfer to us.
We asked to have bread and salad dishes removed prior to having dinner served. That didn't work. They served dinner on our cluttered table and had to make two trips to remove everything we had previously asked them to remove.
We ordered two brownie deserts and three warm cookies. They brought out cold cookies, one brownie desert and a cheesecake. The cheesecake had never been mentioned. A cheesecake delivered after being told repeatedly that two guests are gluten sensitive? The one correct desert was finished before they brought out the other two.
Overall very unimpressive!
In fairness I have never been a fan of Bonefish Grill, but my wife was. After they made special efforts to disrupt and ruin her birthday dinner, she recommended the 2-star...
Read moreGetting to the location was easy and simple. Huge parking lot so you don't have to worry about parking.
Dim lighting as you enter and a good 3-4 hosts at the stand ready to seat you. Went on a Tuesday and was surprised at the amount of people in the restaurant. Now, I don't know if that was abnormal, but they definitely seemed short-staffed. There's not much anyone there can do about it, so it's truly not the fault of the staff. Our waiter was friendly and communicated with us as much as possible, always apologizing for any wait and letting us know when things were on its way. But at the end of the day, it did take a good amount of time before we got our drinks and bread. If you're short staffed and have that many people crawling in your restaurant, you should probably get more servers and cooks. Get your restaurant operating at a level that your staff doesn't have to apologize for.
The food was good... they were out of the first thing my aunt ordered, Cobia Piccata & Shrimp. Again, nothing the wait staff can do. Just odd to be out of stuff that's on your menu. We reacted politely and ordered something else, which ended up being Atlantic Salmon. My aunt wanted shrimp which was why her first order was that shrimp plate.. but since they didn't have another "just shrimp" plate, the shrimp was charged extra... For like 5 of them on a stick lol. I again thought it was odd to not offer a free-of-charge accommodation when the original order wanted wasn't available. But whatever, we paid it without complaint. I ordered the Thermidor Gnocchi. I definitely recommend, very good.
They were quick to get the check processed and got us our boxes and whatnot. It was too expensive for the wait and the quality of the meal. Good food, but not great. Salmon slabbed with a side of vegetables, which wasn't even mixed veggies, it was spinach and green beans, shouldn't be $30+. I ended up paying over $70 for food that was relatively sub-par.
I was kind of embarrassed cuz it was my aunts first time in the United States and my first time taking her out to dinner. Of course we had a good time, but I...
Read more1st time visit. Waiter, could Brian sure could use to smile more, and be more engaging with customers. He never smiled nor had a positive look on his face. It was like trying to get a feel for a 1st time restaurant while coaching your server. I ordered the $40 Sea Bass, came to the table in a super tiny piece, was shocked. At first bite, shocked again. Expected a soft buttery delicate fish, and I got rubbery and hard. Waiter not apologetic, again unengaged with us as customers. Replaced entree was walked out by a fella we hadn't seen before. He apologized and only after I asked for his name and "are you a manager" did we learn he is one of the front of the house managers. We were thankful, but here's a tip, pls always introduce yrself 1st, so the customer knows who is delivering corrected food! It makes a BIG difference knowing, and a bigger relief that it is not just an expediter. It was very professional to have a manager show up, apologize, and offered to comp a few of our items. It was a birthday dinner, which I mentioned at reservation, at arriving and also to the waiter upon seated at our table, who didn't show any signs of enthusiasm. The Bang Bang shrimp to scrumptious and a favorite no doubt. We had sides of spinach and garlic mashed potatoes, which were very flavorful. The music however, is played way too loud. It's of a pop/rock&roll nature and/or genre, and in an evening dinner, is very...
