Cheba Hut "Toasted" Subs — Restaurant in Denver

Hi there, I’m not usually one to make a review but maybe something to be aware of just for the future. Also this is a rather long post! So my hubby and I have been coming to Cheba multiple times every week to get their food which by the way is delicious and that’s why I still rate high regardless of the situation. We came in yesterday(May 16), my husband always gets the 5-O and I got something different than what I usually get(I can’t remember what mine was named) due to dietary restrictions and wanted to try something different. I had a really nice gentleman who helped set the order and was extremely patient. I got a grilled chicken sandwich, hummus, mixed greens, tomato, onion and pickle on garlic bread, we had to remove certain items off a specific menu sandwich such as cheese so I was able to enjoy it due to restrictions(I can’t have dairy due to stomach sensitivity). Tasted fantastic by the way everything was the exact way I ordered it, delicious. Few hours later I haven’t been feeling good, it’s been horrible. I’m not sure if there was something in the sandwich that didn’t agree with me, I’m not sure if the chicken was undercooked, or something. I know a girl mentioned to us last week that most of the employees working are stoned a bit, but not to where they can’t work. And during that time as well, I ordered a sandwich and they gave me the wrong bread which isn’t a big deal at all but I’m just glad it wasn’t something to where it could’ve been more concerning for someone else with serious allergies. I don’t want to say that it was for sure the sandwich I ate, but I felt 100% fine until I ate that sandwich and I haven’t felt good since and I’ve been awake since 2am feeling sick. Still a great sandwich joint, but just wanted to mention this since I’m not entirely sure what made this happen, and I don’t want to say that this definitely happened or I’m saying something that may be untrue but if there was something that may have happened behind the counter, I want to bring this to attention so this may not happen to someone else. I really like Cheba Hut so far and this location has been great on both my visits! I LOVE sandwiches and subs but am super cautious with restaurants that offer food that isn't cooked on demand (think salads and cold cuts) and once I was traumatized by finding a rather large clipped fingernail in my chicken salad sandwich at a place that shall remain unnamed (rhymes with Twitch Twitch). And there's a poplar sub shop that I just don't get the hype because their subs are like hospital food level, so basic. (Rhymes with Mimmy Moms.) The other popular sub shops are fine and will do in a pinch. I just pray every time that it will be sanitary and not give me the trots, or worse. Anyhow, friends said good things about Cheba Hut and so I tried it twice now and I'm quite chuffed. Both times I got the White Widow. First time I made no changes, today I removed bacon and added cucumber and olives and that was even better. I'm impressed with the chicken quality, gristle is common in chicken salads and such and so far Cheba Hut's quality has bren great! This sandwiche is sloppy, in a good way, and flavorful and saucy are really yummy and packed full. I took my scraps home to my husband to share and he also thought it was really good. So as I went into this location tonight as a doordasher I felt racially, profiled and harassed when I got there, the girl at the front told me to go to the other side to pick up a DoorDash order. As I walked over the guy with the long blonde, hair and hat was in my personal space, looking at my phone, he then proceeded to ask me what was the name on the order . I told him the name, and he went to make the drink for the order. After he got done making the drink, he asked me for the name again. I told him again, and he hesitated to give me the order, saying I needed to confirm the order on my phone right then and there. He refused to give me the order because I wouldn’t show him that the order was confirmed on my phone. He then start saying things like I couldn’t have the order because I wouldn’t show him that I confirmed it. He kept accusing me of stealing the order and said that he didn’t feel like remaking it because I was going to steal it. When I asked to see a manager, he claimed he was the manager.
