Iāve been going to Zorbaās for probably over 20 years. I remember when the kitchen was on the west side of the restaurant and seating on the east side. I specifically stop in when Iām in the neighborhood for a Gyro Omelette. Today it came out with no Gyro meat in it. I sent it back and they made me a new one. And once again, no meat?? I asked the waiter and he said he had been working there for a year and they donāt put Gyro meat in the gyro omelette. Go figure. I guess my days of eating gyros at Zorbaās are over.
I definitely ordered a Gyro Omelette and was charged for a Gyro Omelette. Ask the Server Alex A. He returned it and brought back another meatless Gyro Omelette and Said you don't put Gyro in the Gyro Omelette. I think you need to educate your staff as to what is on the menu.
You People just don't get it. I actually opened the omelette up and showed the server there was NO MEAT at all in the omelette. I have two witnesses who also saw that there was NO MEAT in the omelette. Your server took it back and brought another gyro omelette to the table and when I called him back and showed him again, there was NO MEAT in the omelette, he said "that is how they are always served and I've been here for over a year." Now you tell me that he has told you the same thing. Obviously your Gyro omelette has no Gyro meat in it. I'm not asking for a refund, I'm not asking for free food, I paid my tab, I even tipped the server; and I will from now on go to Pete's Kitchen or Pete's Gyro Place.
I just want you to be aware of your problem. The server and the cook agree there is no meat in the gyro omelette. You as the owner I presume, say there is suppose to be Gyro meat in the omelette. You have a problem at Chef Zorba's and maybe you can fix it. Unfortunately, I won't be...

Dinner fare this time.
After much back and forth between the Moussaka and Pork chops, the meat won and no regrets. Delicious and have to make special mention of their mashed potatoes which, I hardly ever touch but, this got me!
Hubby got the Gyro Plate š.
Sadly, they were out of Rice puddings. (Another reason for going back.) Instead got: Wedding cookie - sorry, but I found it too dry. Blueberry muffin was š.
First visit on a weekday, noon. Luckily, no wait as table available. A lot of diners and continuous in and out of diners during our visit.
Ordered: Pancakes Eggs Gyro Plate (with the Lemon Chicken and Rice soup & Mac n Cheese as side)
Huge serving of pancakes and eggs that even my hubby couldn't finish it all. Same is true for my Gyro Plate that I had some of the meat to go.
Have to make special mention of the Lemon Chicken and Rice soup....SUPERB! If anything else, I 'd go back to Zorba's for that! Saying that, it does not in any way, lessen the rating of the other food I had. The Mac n Cheese and the Gyro was š as well.
As we were really full but was not going to miss out on the bakery items, we also got to-go of their: Bread Pudding Rice Pudding Baklava and 1 other similar to the Baklava but with a different filling. The staff couldn't really tell us it's name as she herself claimed, they have a nickname for it. Well, we have devoured the 2 puddings and I personally ā£ļø the Rice pudding while my husband ā£ļø the Banana pudding. Will get to the Baklava and the other one later.
Service is friendly and fast.
The atmosphere is casual and homey. DEFINITELY recommend a visit!
Only regret is not being able to taste the Moussaka and the Pork Chop which, we will definitely have on our next visit for dinner.
Will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA very quaint neighborhood diner with a longstanding history in Denver. Food was great! Their carrot cake is delicious! Service was excellent! I went in once and Steve R was my server. I enjoyed it so much my son and I returned for a Mother's Day late lunch. It met all my expectations and they gave me a pretty red carnation flower - which was unexpected and very thoughtful. I accidentally spilled a glass of water at my table - and the wait staff were very kind and gracious when I apologized for the mess I made. They quickly cleaned it up. The restaurant is a little crowded - by that I mean it is smaller with lots of tables close to one another. I guess one could see that as cozy since it is a neighborhood diner. Perhaps as I go there more frequently - I will become more comfortable with that aspect of the dining experience. I LOVE Greek food and definitely will be becoming a regular. Gyros Place and Pete's Kitchen were my favorite Greek restaurants for over 30 years. However, since Pete died - and his grandson has taken over that restaurant the food portions are not consistent. Sometimes my favorite salad is generous and large - other times it is skimpy - the price never fluctuates. Lol āŗļø Quality of the food product has suffered as well. (My favorite Kitchen Greek salad had obviously moldly sliced tomatoes in it once. Gross!) I have been trying various Greek restaurants in our Metro Area for about a year now - looking for my new favorite haunt. I think I may have found...
