9/15- Less than 21 hours since I posted this review from last week's visit, and it already needs updated. The new rating will be one star, but I'm leaving this as 5 stars for visibility. You see, that burger last week was so good I was counting down the days to get another. I took a couple friends, we all paid separately, but ordered the same thing all around: Double California Style Staeakburger and Fries. I got my order first, and all seemed fine. It was a delicious, juicy burger. Within 30 minutes I began to feel very bloated and uncomfortably full, despite eating a reasonable, normal amount. Within an hour I was violently ill. I've honestly never vomited so many times or for so long. At 13+ hours I am still vomiting, unable to keep down fluids, and desperately trying to avoid a $1500 ER bill for IV fluids. I left a message with Freddy's at 10 am today and have yet to hear from them, but hopefully they are taking this seriously and finding out where the failure happened. My 2 friends loved their burgers and one is just fine, one just a bit queasy, no food poisoning, which makes me think perhaps it was an employee who contaminated my food. Regardless, as much as I enjoyed that first burger its gonna be a long time before I can think about eating here again. Too bad, it was going to become my weekly day off treat. 🤢🤮
9/17- Update: It seems like Staphylococcus Aureus is to blame for this round of food poisoning, going off time table and length of sickness. But it was particularly bad because vomitting continued for 20+ hours and lasted 3 days total. I still have yet to hear back from anyone representing Freddy's and due to their unvarying incompetence will never eat here again. This sickness, which cost me two days work (with no PTO), could have most likely been easily prevented had an employee washed their hands properly and followed proper protocol. I am disgusted and disappointed
9/13- I didn't know I was searching for the perfect burger until I took a bite of the Double California Style Steakburger. In that moment I knew that I never again had to decide whether to settle for crappy Burger King or the wrong orders and cold fries of Sonic. This burger is a juicy cornucopia of exploding flavors. It is exactly what I expect from the famous In-N-Out, which I've yet to experience. I loved the shoestring fries as well. Since they are sliced thinner you get a very satisfying amount...
Read moreI don't normally leave reviews on places but I'm still a little shocked from my experiences earlier. Me and my family ordered food, and it was fine minus some of the fries being a little bit cold. We went back up after to get ice cream, and I ordered 2 concretes and a sundae, dine in. Our number was called and I honestly stood there for a moment because I thought they were kidding- we paid for regulars, and my concrete wasn't even half full with no toppings while my brothers had no toppings but was at least three quarters full. I grabbed the two and stood there for a moment unsure if I should say anything, I'm not great with confrontation and I'm truly surprised I'm even writing a review. The woman behind the counter stared at me and flipped her hand in a sort of passive aggressive way. A moment later, she hands me my dad's sundae in a paper bag, which I found odd since we were dining in. I brought it over to him and when he pulled it out of the back the sides of the cup were covered with ice cream- I mean absolutely covered, there wasn't a single place he could touch without getting his hands messy and when he picked it up from the table it stuck. I would've taken a picture to being here but I wasn't thinking about it, we had just gotten off our flight and it wad the first place we came upon visiting.
The name gave the vibes of a fun place with nice food, but in all honest it was overpriced and messy and every worker except for one was rude- I wish I had her name, she was very patient with me ordering as I tend to get very nervous, thank you to her. The ketchup dispenser was broken too, and when my dad asked if they had any packets they gave him 2 of those tiny things. We ordered a lot of food, we hadn't eaten since breakfast.
I rarely leave reviews but the cup that they couldn't be bothered to fix so they just shoved into a bag ontop of the baby sized ice creams when we paid for regulars were just a slap in the face. They put mine in a stack of 2 cups to make it appear more full.
I've heard good things about other locations, but don't go to the...
Read moreIt's honest review time. Understand that this is done to help improve the business, so please take it to heart. Let us begin with the building. It is in a potentially good place. Once construction is finished and the area is more populated it should work well. The inside was clean, spacious and had a somewhat 1980's diner kind of feel to it. The staff were friendly and attentive. Not bad so far.
Now for the most important part of any restaurant, the food. Firstly, I just want to ask, "how is it that you can have a Hatch Green Chili Burger but are unable to pour some of that same green chili over fries for green chili cheese fries"? This is Colorado. One would think that would be a natural addition to the menu here. The menu "red" chili fries were ok, not great, but ok. I would recommend switching to a larger style fry instead of shoestring on that one.
The shakes are amazing, change nothing.
I've also tried the spicy chicken sandwich without pickles. I would recommend adding lettuce and mayo to those.
When it comes to the patty melt, I'm afraid that all I could taste was the bread. The meat, cheese and onions didn't really do much for the flavor. I'd start that recipe over from scratch if it were me.
As for the steak in your steakburgers, it's a little on the the bland side. They honestly taste just like any skillet cooked burger I can make at home. I use one of two methods for spicing up my meat in that situation.
The first is to mix a little bit of Montreal Steak Seasoning into the meat. It goes great with a couple drops of A-1.
The other is a little odd but ends up making some of the best burgers I have ever tasted. This one is to mix a little chicken bouillon in with the grease, margarine or vegetable oil you use to to coat the pan or cooking range. This also works very well seasoning eggs. Seriously, try it with eggs on a sandwich with...
