I'd heard they were really good, so I had to try them out for myself. Caught the end of restaurant week, which was two full meals disguised as courses, a glass of wine, and a monstrous serving of baklava. The wine was a disappointing Israeli wine, which we reluctantly finished while waiting for the first course. It took awhile, but when it finally arrived, it was way more than expected. The Mazévo platter was a sizable portion of hummus, olives, and baba ganoush, plus a couple large falafel, and two dolmas; the lentil soup was a large broad bowl of pureed lentil with a carrot sauce and oil drizzled on top with fried pita chips covered in pepper on the side. I was particularly impressed with the soup, the baba ganoush, and the falafel. I chose the lamb shawarma for my main course, which came out rather quickly following the meza. The hummus that came with it was fluffier than what came on the appetizer platter. I ended up taking the majority of it home in one of the three to go containers I left with. Did I mention the large portions? I didn't see a single table leave the place without copious leftovers. The last course was three large pieces of baklava and an oddly reasonably sized creme brulee. Fully two thirds of the pastry ended up coming home with us. The cream ale I ordered came out rather flat. I should have ordered one of the many cocktails I saw them prepare. They were complicated concoctions that would have made me jealous had I not been so full. I will definitely return, though I'll have to bring a bigger appetite and stick to a single course.

Mazevo is located along Tennyson St among many other fantastic shops and eateries to stop in. My girlfriend and I were hungry but also wanted to have a healthier lunch while walking around. We were in luck when we happened to walk by Mazevo! First impressions were that the interior was very nice with a lot of seating and a large bar as well. The shakshuka was very good with PLENTY of flavor. It was honestly a bit more flavor than I prefer but I like my food on the blander side so can’t complain there. Eggs were cooked very well sunny side up. The combination of the spices, runny yolk, cheese, and the French baguette were awesome. My girlfriend ordered the chicken shawarma plate and it was slightly salty but again we prefer our food on the blander side. Service was awesome. We were checked in on frequently with waters cups always full. The server wiped down our table because some water spilled and then swapped out my baguettes with new ones because he was concerned that some dust may have gotten on them. I said it was ok but it was a nice gesture. Last thing I’ll touch on is the pricing. The pricing is honestly not bad at all considering the generous portions and especially the location. Most places on Tennyson tend to be on the pricier side but Mazevo seems very reasonably priced. I look forward to going back to Mazevo for a healthy, reasonably-priced meal again in the near future and recommend others to do the same!

2021-April, party of 4, @ Denver Restaurant Week We got lucky in parking as there was an empty space in front of the restaurant on a Saturday night. Our friends were already seated when we came. The lighting and background music provided a cozy ambiance. The menu was provided using a QR code. We had the Mazévo Platter & Greek Salad for appetizer and Creme Brulee for dessert. Our entrées were: Chicken Shawarma and mild Lamb Tagine (not part of Denver Restaurant Week menu). The food was very, very flavorful! Our waitress was quite busy and was not able to check on us (and we couldn't get her attention when we needed somthing). I ordered a pineapple juice, she brought me an apple juice. After about 20 minutes waiting for her to ask why and if they can replace my drink, she said she forgot to let me know that they do NOT have pineapple juice and they only have apple or orange juice. Aside from that, our experience was great. Bon Appétit! If this review helped you in any way, please give it a thumbs up!

I was looking forward to our dining experience at Mazevo. It was recommended by a friend, and also the reviews were very good. I would love to give this a higher rating, as the food was outstanding! Absolutely delicious, unique, flavorful. However, I don't know if it was just an off night, or what the situation was, but the service was very subpar. I don't think it was our server in particular; it seemed like the whole place was a bit off (hostess, servers, timing of kitchen).

We were at our table for 30 minutes before we were approached by a server. It looked to be similar service for the tables around us. When the server arrived, she immediately asked for our food order; typically drink orders are taken first, to enjoy while our food order is being taken and prepared. We didn't even have menus yet, so the menus were provided and another 20 minutes went by before we ordered anything - drinks OR food. We finally ordered, received our beverages....and waited. Our starters arrived about 20 minutes later (so it's been 70 minutes between arriving and receiving any food). We enjoyed 2 bites of our starters when our entrees were served (literally minutes after being served our starters). We also noticed the table next to us had been waiting so long for their entrees that they had to take them to do.

Now, the food was incredible, so yummy! But it was really hard to enjoy due to the level of service. I would like to hope this was a one-time off night, as I would like to go back; however, I can't go back if this is considered the norm for...
