The smoothies here are actually tasty.
However, it appears that this place is poorly managed. I’ve never had an order I placed here for a scheduled time actually be ready on time. Generally, I will receive it about ten minutes after the scheduled time. It’s frustrating when I leave my apartment a little early in order to grab some breakfast here, only to then be asked to wait extra time, despite taking the time to make a scheduled order. I’d be more understanding if it were just a one or two minute delay. Heck, even a five minute delay on a busy morning. But when I walk in, and there’s no one in line or even waiting, and I have to wait about ten minutes past my scheduled time, it’s annoying. Don’t offer pickup for scheduled time if it’s not actually going to be ready on time. I have noticed that even if there is no line, employees are still bombarded with online orders. Management needs to handle it and make sure they are staffed accordingly. You can’t place the blame on the employees if management isn’t providing the proper support. I understand that COVID has made things difficult, but this place is pricey, so I think they are in a better position to put in an extra helping hand. If not, I don’t see why the owners can’t come in and help their employees.
Also, I shouldn’t have to call three times before someone actually answers the phone. If your employees are so overwhelmed that they can’t even have a second to answer the phone, there’s a problem.
If your employees are slow, retrain them. If they are understaffed, then management should get in there and help them. If this were a one time thing, it wouldn’t be an issue. But it’s a recurring problem. Employees deserve better. It’s not like I walk in there and they aren’t working. They are always working. So clearly, they need help. The first time I had this happen I literally heard an employee ask why no one was in. Support your employees, they’ve held you up through a pandemic.
Edit: my order was not ready on time. I arrived with my pup a few minutes before 10:15. I went inside at 10:20 in order to give people extra time to have it done. If I scheduled an order for 10:15 and I walk in at 10:15 and it’s not sitting at the pick up station, then it’s not ready for me. When I went inside at 10:20, my order was not ready at the pick up station. So please do not try to publicly be dishonest, because now I’m just not going to return to your store if you’re going to tell me I’m lying. And judging from other reviews, this is a recurring issue. I mean, I’ve seen it in person for other people who have come in to pick up scheduled orders while waiting for my own. Do you really think I went out of my way to just make up a google review for a random juice shop? You lost a customer.
I’m also unsure what miscommunication occurred? I went inside to pick up my order scheduled for pick up at 10:15. I went inside at 10:20. I gave you extra time before even going inside. I didn’t speak to ANYONE while inside because when I saw absolutely zero prepared orders were on the pick up station, I went back outside to my dog. I called at 10:21, no response. I called at 10:22, no response. I called at 10:23, then your employee answered and told me my order was now ready. I’m not trying to be grinch over eight minutes, but it’s frustrating when this always happens (again, clearly a pattern for others based on reviews) and when I go out of my way to order in advance (in order to avoid waiting.... that’s also why I brought my dog on the walk with me in the first place... scheduled orders should be in and out). Read moreI am so sad to be writing this review. I love nektar and I always order the mango açaí bowl from here and it’s amazing, but today just now was the exception. I always order mine w out coconut pieces on top and with out pineapple on top and I add to my order extra banana to have more fruit and extra granola even tho they already add a lot granola on it own. Today I decided to add and pay for extra agave in the mango mixture and on top, I added and payed for extra banana and decided to not ask for extra granola since other times they put a lot on the bowl but today it was completely disappointing. My mango mixture came so watery like it wasn’t frozen at all. It did not taste good like other times, it tested less sweet and less fruity, nothing like other times. The top had less than a half of a banana, the bowl had nothing, It had like 5 pieces of strawberry and barely any granola at all. There was not agave on top bc I know how it tastes w it and looks and it was nothing like my previous orders. I am sooo disappointed with this order. My bowl came half filled. I did not get what the pictures show and what I have gotten other times. I barely got any mango mixture. This makes me sad bc often times this is my breakfast and I pay for a service that I should get done right. Nektar is my favorite place and I am disappointed. Read moreI would have supported this business but I refuse to support a business where the manager does not have integrity . When someone takes the time out of their day to come for an interview and you tell them ( her ) that she seems perfect for the job and you will call her that afternoon either way and you don’t and when she calls the following morning to touch base and you never even bother to let her calm her back to let her know yay or nay makes me realize that the management is not good and everything trickles down from there . You got my daughters hopes up and the least you could do is let her know either way . Shame on you ! And the drink you made her was mediocre .
