I have been going to this Bakery since I was a little girl. The original owner made the best pastries ever! The neopolian is one of our family favorites. In order for me to go there it's about 35 to 45 minute drive, so I make sure I get all the pastries I like. Past few times I've noticed that the pastries are old and not just a day old they seem more then a couple of days old. I went there yesterday and I asked the owner which is a lady if she could give me fresh ones and not the ones that were on display. She seemed irritated that I had asked. She took the tray back with the old pastries and assured me you gave me the fresh ones. Needless to say I believe she gave me all the old ones they were old dried up and crusty. It's sad because I live so far so I cannot just go back to get my money back. I will not be returning. What a great disappointment this...
Read moreA friend introduced me to this delicious Greek bakery. Then I introduced myself to the owner, even sat with her for a few minutes, where she shared how she trained under the original Greek owner to learn all his pastry secrets. What about her tiramisu and sweet breads or strawberry shortcakes? Well, I can tell you they look picture-ready, like they’re unreal! The Greek coffee is brewed on a burner in front of you, which is fun if you want that time to visit with your friends/guests. So far, we’ve been there three times. We tried the tiramisu, very authentic. My daughter had some kind of lemony cake, each morsel was tangy and sweet. We will be going again soon! One time we tried the strawberry...
Read moreI bought a piece of baklava and all I tasted was olive oil, no honey, no hint of rosewater it was like eating a spoonful of olive oil. I don't even know what kind of nuts they used. I also bought a piece of napoleon. It was just puff pastry layered with whipped cream, no pastry cream, no icing on top with the wisps of chocolate. They were $4.75 each. I've worked as a pastry chef so I know how to make both these desserts and I probably should have instead of buying them but you know sometimes you get a craving for something and you just want to have it you don't want to have to make it. What a disappointment! I would have given it zero...
