**this place used to be cairo food and pizza and is now called eastern food and pizza - the old location was changed to eastern food and pizza on Google so now Google shows 2 different sets of reviews for the new place- it's very misleading!!! By the pics & reviews (from the listing with more reviews) it looks like this place was once really good. We went a couple weeks ago to finally check it out! To our surprise, its now called 'eastern food and pizza'or something & the menu is completely different than what we saw online. It is not longer Egyptian- no foul, no kosheri or hawawshi. We were soo disappointed but still eager to try, despite no one being in the restaurant and no music. I ordered the grape leaves, the falafel, and my bf ordered the chicken shawarma plate and fries. We sat down and heard the microwave going non stop, opening closing, beeping, closing, beeping. We got our food and it was obvious that the meat was microwaved by how rubbery, dry, and rock hard it was. The rice was decent but also microwaved. The falafel was brown inside and lacked flavor, it didn't come with sauce then when i asked for some they brought out what looked like salsa Verde (no not zoug). I only took 1 bite and pretty sure they have wheat in them so I couldn't eat them anyways since they weren't gluten free. The fries were seasoned well. The dolmas were likely canned and probably the freshest thing we ate. I feel bad writing this review because the family seemed sweet. They gave us free pasta salad and a little piece of microwaved lamb and rice. The pasta salad smelled off. The lamb was dry. The rice was great and yummy but also microwaved. It's obvious that they need a lot of help with the menu and the food/kitchen for freshness/quality. It sounds like the last owner/menu/food was alot better. Please dont serve people microwaved food :( we ended up giving the food to an unhoused person and even felt bad doing that because it was...

Read moreSamir Restaurant and Bakery exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was perfect.
The menu is a delightful mix of traditional and modern dishes, each prepared with the freshest ingredients and bursting with flavor. I had the lamb kebabs, and they were grilled to perfection, juicy and full of rich, savory spices. The accompanying sides complemented the meal beautifully.
And don't even get me started on the bakery section! The pastries are a must-try, each one a slice of heaven. The baklava is the best I've ever had — perfectly flaky and just the right amount of sweetness.
I highly recommend Samir Restaurant and Bakery to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. It's a gem in the neighborhood, and I can't...
