2023 Visit:

Probably nearly a year after last visit and still give their food 5-⭐.

What changed? No more dine-in area, although they do have this small patio.

It's more a walk-in/walk-through (as opposed to drive-through) order/pick-up style now.

Though this branch is far from where we live, we've always enjoyed dining here. Now, it'll take a minimum of 30 minutes to drive back home and enjoy the food, thus the 4-⭐.

2017 1st time visit. Good-sized servings.Had the Carne Asada, good but chili sauce served on the side in a small bowl. Would have it smothered next time. Hubby had the Tamale Dinner and gave it thumbs up. Got 6 tamales and green chili "to go" and regret not getting more. Wanted to try their breakfast burrito but at early p.m., they were already out. Location is nondescript and would have missed it had we not seen it weekend past. Parking is lacking vs customers getting to go and diners. Dining area is not enough and the time we were there, it was packed. Overall, really great food for the price. Service is excellent, an older lady who I believe is the matriarch/owner is hands-on and very solicitous of all customers. Gave it 4 stars only for the wait for a table to free up. Will bring our Igloo/ice cooler next time and get more variety to go. A must-try!

Update : July 2017 Dropped by for take-out of their delicious tamales (beef), green chili and breakfast burrito which we missed out on when we last dined here. Unfortunately, learnt we were again out of luck with the burrito as was informed it's only available until 11am. We got the tamales and this time we got a dozen to-go....

My husband and I love Santiago’s more than anything. It’s amazingly affordable, incredibly delicious, and you can tell it’s made by people who genuinely care.

When I went in for the very first time, I was so impressed by how clean it was. Organized and looked like I could eat off the floor (I’m not even kidding). Everyone working was also so friendly; as many times as we have been there it’s impressive how it’s been so consistent.

I’m originally from New Mexico, and I’ve lived in Colorado now for about 10 years. I haven’t really missed NM too much. One thing I missed more than anything was the grub. I’ve been able to try cuisine from so many different cultures I would’ve never had the opportunity to taste had I not moved. But sometimes, nothing like some food your mama use to make could hit the spot, and that’s Santiago’s.

The tortillas are perfectly fluffy, the meat is tender and perfectly seasoned. Most importantly though? The chile is actually HOT. Most places I go in Denver have “chili” that’s not even the smallest bit spicy, here??? Damn. It’s the perfect amount of spice.

Santiago’s doesn’t mess around. The only, ONLY critique I have? I wish I didn’t crave them on a Sunday, or after 8pm. But that’s impossible because I want Santiago’s all the time, and when you’re cranking out food that tasty, you’re gonna need a break.

I would take my grandma here, that’s how much I...

Delicious, but the staff has been so rude. I keep coming back because I love the food, but I've ordered a soda twice alongside my breakfast burrito. I put the order in online with my payment. First time they just mixed soda and coffee and didn't tell me. It was gross and undrinkable but I just wanted to let it go. Second time they tried to ignore it and just gave my my food when I picked it up. Threw me the bag of burritos and ignored me, not saying anything. I asked about my drink and they just said "we only have coffee at breakfast time" and tried to make me leave. I asked for a refund since I didn't get that item, not trying to be unreasonable. They said fine, grabbed a few bucks out the register and just gave it to me.

I love the food and can't say I've ever had an issue with the food, but it just didn't make sense to me why they never could just communicate and tell me they didn't have soda in the first place at breakfast time, seeing as the website lets anyone order it. They had no problem stealing my money and going on in life, I had to push for my money back for something I never received. They're just unprofessional and it's disappointing because the food is...

Small Mexican restaurant with great burritos. They open at 6 am for breakfast and are immediately very busy. The breakfast plate with eggs, potatoes and choice of meat is very good. I like the sausage. It's a lot of food at a reasonable price. The burritos come with one of three levels of salsa - hot, mild ot half and half. It should be noted that hot means exactly that. Service is very fast, polite and efficient. They work hard and move a lot of customers through rapidly. There is no seating; it's take-out only. The parking lot is small and often full, but people are coming in or out all the time. It's necessary to be careful.

It's one of the places that ask you if you want chips as you're sitting down.. but then charges you for them if you say "sure." The deceptive sort of upsell is not the kind I appreciate. On the plus side, the salsa that comes with the chips you unknowingly purchased is very flavorful and shouldn't be too spicy for most people. The place is small, and a little cluttered. I got a small combo, which is actually probably a moderate sized dinner for 2. Decent flavor, I really enjoyed the beef taco and would easily go back again just for that. No chips next time though.
